Ankara Metropolitan Municipality hosted various events during the “25 November International Week for the Elimination of Violence Against Women”.

From the awareness campaign launched with the slogan "No Tolerance to Violence" in the Ankara Metro, to the creation of a "Non-Violent Life Nursery" in Etimesgut, from the "Non-Violent Steps" march in Eymir Forest to the Life Workshop established in Women's Clubs, women in the Capital came together. met.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality organized various activities throughout the city on the occasion of the “25 November International Week for the Elimination of Violence Against Women”.

Within the scope of “25 November International Week for the Elimination of Violence Against Women”, ABB Women and Family Services Department and EGO General Directorate jointly carried out an awareness campaign. Ayten Gök, Head of Service Improvement and Institutional Development Department of EGO General Directorate, said, “We wanted to share the visual materials and products we prepared within the scope of awareness work with our citizens in our public transportation vehicles. It is my greatest wish for our women to have a happy and peaceful life free from violence in their homes, workplaces and public spaces in all areas of life.” Serkan Yorgancılar said:

“Like every year, we prepared visibility materials with the slogan 'We Have No Tolerance to Violence'. We emphasized that violence against women is a crime against humanity with the handles on the subway cars and the posters on the buses.”

NO VIOLENCE TO WOMEN AWARENESS EVENT AT BAŞKENT UNIVERSITY

Within the scope of the activities, an awareness event was also held at the Baskent University Preparatory Campus. In the event, which attracted great attention, while the students were drawing with paints to raise awareness about violence against women, water was distributed with the words "November 25 No Violence Against Women".

Bilge Serenay, from the Women's Counseling Center of the Department of Women and Family Services, stated that as Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, they will continue their women-friendly practices.

“Today, we distribute water to raise awareness against violence against women, and we also come with our paints and we want students to leave a special message for today.”

Expressing that they are very happy to cooperate with Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, Başkent University Communication Faculty PhD Lecturer Ebru Akçay said, “An important event is being organized to raise awareness against violence against women. We need to be aware of violence not only on 25 November, but on all days, but I think it is valuable to have symbolic events on such important days.”

“NON-VIOLENCE STEPS” MARCH FROM CAPITAL WOMEN

Setting an example with its women-friendly practices and works, ABB organized a march in Eymir Forest with the slogan “Non-Violent Steps”. The march organized jointly by the Youth and Sports Services Department and the Women and Family Services Department; Members of Women's Clubs, representatives of non-governmental organizations, BelPA Chairman Ferhan Özkara, Women and Family Services Branch Manager Özlem Süreyya Karaman and many women attended.

Stating that they wanted to raise awareness with the march they organized, Head of Youth and Sports Services Department Mustafa Artunç said, "We want to raise awareness with the march we organized and we say no to violence against women."

TREE PLANT IN “NON-VIOLENCE LIFE NURSERY” WITH WOMEN MAHTARS

Department of Women and Family Services, Department of Environmental Protection and Control and Department of Headman's Affairs organized a tree planting event with the participation of 100 women muhtars. Male headmen also supported the female headmen who planted trees in the area called “Non-Violent Life Nursery” in Etimesgut.

Speaking at the event, BelPA AŞ Chairman of the Board Ferhan Özkara said, “I am very happy to see that the number of our female mukhtars is high. We are against all forms of violence against women,” she said. Önder Yanmaz, Head of the Head of the Head of the Head of the Headman's Office, said, “Every year, we organize various events for this week. I am very happy that we came together with you at the tree planting event this year as well.”

ANGEL FIGURE AGAINST VIOLENCE PAINTING AND FELT MAKING

Angel figure painting and felt making activity was held at Çankaya Ladies Club. Women participating in the event painted the angel figure and their hands to raise awareness against violence against women. Şenay Yılmaz, Head of Women's Studies Department of the Department of Women and Family Services, said the following about the events: “As Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, we organized events during the Week of Struggle Against Violence Against Women on 25 November. Our aim is to draw attention to this day and raise awareness.”
