Work has been started for the establishment of pedestals for the cannonball figures to be placed on the towers of the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, which was built between the Lapseki and Gelibolu districts of the Dardanelles Strait.
Preparations have begun for the assembly of works that symbolize the cannonballs that Seyit Onbaşı fired into the barrel during the Çanakkale Wars, which will be placed on the tops of the towers on both sides of the 18 Çanakkale Bridge, which was inaugurated on March 1915. In the towers on the Asian and European sides, pedestals are installed on the ground where the bullet figures, each weighing 75 tons, will be placed.
It was reported that after the completion of the works, four monumental structures with a height of 20,5 meters on the Gallipoli construction site will be put in their places.
