Emphasizing that they have made significant investments in the aviation sector as well as in every mode of transportation in the last 20 years, Karaismailoğlu noted that with these steps, Turkey has become the world's leading country in the sector. Pointing out that they have reaped the fruits of future-oriented, state-minded and planned actions in investments, Karaismailoğlu said, “In October of this year, the number of aircraft landing and taking off at our passenger and environmentally friendly airports reached 70 thousand 36 in domestic flights and 70 thousand 21 in international flights. With the overpasses, a total of 177 thousand 531 aircraft traffic occurred. Thus, 2019 percent of the total aircraft traffic, including overpasses, was reached in October 96.
WE ARE APPROACHING THE NUMBER OF PASSENGERS BEFORE THE EPIDEMIC
Noting that last month, domestic passenger traffic increased to 6 million 832 thousand and international passenger traffic to 10 million 995 thousand at the airports serving throughout Turkey, Karaismailoğlu announced that the number of passengers served with transit passengers increased by 14.1 percent and exceeded 17 million 877 thousand. Pointing out that the passenger traffic is very close to its old level in October 2022 compared to the same month of 2019, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that 2022 percent of the 2019 passenger traffic was realized in October 92 in the total passenger traffic, including transit, at the airports.

Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport, said, “The aircraft traffic that landed and took off from Istanbul Airport in October reached 9 thousand 547, 28 thousand 140 on domestic lines and 37 thousand 687 on international lines,” said Karaismailoğlu, at the airport 1 million 368 thousand on domestic lines and 4 thousand on international lines. He stated that more than 605 million 5 thousand passengers in total, including one million 974 thousand passengers, were served.
AIRCRAFT TRAFFIC EXCEEDS 1.5 MILLION
Karaismailoğlu stated that the aircraft traffic that landed and departed from airports in the January-October period was 665 thousand 583 in domestic lines and 603 thousand 146 in international lines, and that a total of 1 million 590 thousand aircraft traffic was reached with the overpasses. Underlining that the aircraft traffic increased by 30,6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, Karaismailoğlu said, “We hosted 66 million 245 thousand passengers on domestic lines and 89 million 288 thousand passengers on international lines at our airports. Together with the direct transit passengers, we served a total of 155 million 885 thousand passengers. Our number of passengers increased by 45,7 percent compared to the same period of last year. In the said period, airport freight traffic; It reached a total of 662 million 625 thousand tons, including 2 thousand 726 tons on domestic lines and 3 million 388 thousand tons on international lines.
In the January-October period at Istanbul Airport; Underlining that a total of 91 thousand 915 aircraft traffic, 259 thousand 550 on domestic lines and 351 thousand 465 on international lines, took place, Karaismailoğlu underlined that a total of 13 million 555 thousand passenger traffic, 39 million 991 thousand on domestic lines and 53 million 546 thousand on international lines.
PASSENGER TRAFFIC AT AIRPORTS IN TOURISM CENTERS EXCEED 46 MILLION
Karaismailoğlu, who also made statements about the airports in the tourism centers, said, “The number of passengers receiving service from the airports in our tourism centers, where international traffic is heavy in the 10-month period, was 14 million 87 thousand in domestic flights and 32 million 25 thousand in international lines. The total number of passengers reached 46 million 107 thousand. At Antalya Airport, we served a total of 5 million 177 thousand passengers, 23 million 618 thousand on domestic flights and 28 million 794 thousand on international lines. We served 8 million 526 thousand passengers at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, 4 million 439 thousand passengers at Muğla Dalaman Airport, and 3 million 722 thousand passengers at Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport. On the other hand, 630 thousand 334 passenger traffic was realized at Gazipaşa Alanya Airport.
