First Payment of Natural Gas Aid Will Be Made This Week

The critical process that the world and our country are going through is increasing the importance of social supports. The most devastating effects of these periods appear on low-income segments of society. We wholeheartedly believe in the principle that the people should live so that the state can live, and we have a high sensitivity to social supports. Recently, we have taken new steps that will both increase the effectiveness of social assistance and expand its range. Comprehensive assistance continues for citizens who cannot access the basic necessities required for their survival, and by constantly updating the figures regarding these, we maintain the state's quality of being the person of the orphans.
We have developed new programs that will provide protective and preventive support to our citizens whose income level is below a certain number in this painful period. One of these programs, the product of the idea of sharing Turkey's opportunities with every citizen living in this country, is 'Turkey Family Support'. In this context, 2,5 billion liras, which will be transferred to 3,2 million citizens, will be deposited into the accounts of the beneficiaries tomorrow. Payment of 3 million liras to 666 million households benefiting from electricity support will be made within this week. The first group payment of the natural gas aid for the winter period of 2022 will also be made within this week.
November payments amounting to 1 billion TL, covering 379 million 493 thousand 2,1 people who are entitled to disabled and elderly salaries, were also completed recently. In order to meet the needs of our citizens in the winter period, we doubled the additional periodical share that will be transferred to our Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations operating throughout the country to 450 million liras. The funds transferred to these foundations in November alone amounted to 900 million liras. Thus, under the headings that I have tried to express briefly this week, we have put a social support figure of 7 billion liras into the service of our people. Hopefully, we will continue our social support programs with an understanding that will not leave any of our citizens hungry, in the open, in the cold, but also in their families.
Natural Gas Consumption Support Increased
Family and Social Services Minister Derya Yanık stated that they made important arrangements in the Natural Gas Consumption Support, which was implemented this year in order to support the heating expenses of the citizens in need within the new social aid package.
Indicating that they aim to provide a support of 3 billion liras in this context, Yanık said, “We have increased our support amounts for the winter period of 2022. We have increased our annual aid amount, which varies from province to province, between 415 liras and 1150 liras for our beneficiaries, to between 900 liras and 2500 liras.” used his statements.
Reminding that they started to receive applications for the said support program for the winter period of 2022 via e-Government again as of the first week of September, Yanık stated that in the new application period, they offered the opportunity to benefit from natural gas support not only to the landlords, but also to all social assistance beneficiaries who are tenants.
