Gebze Darıca Metro First Stage Will Be Opened in May 2023

Speaking at the Planning and Budget Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said, “The first phase of the Gebze Sahil – Darıca OSB metro in Kocaeli will be completed in May 2023; We will put all of them into service at the beginning of 2024”.

Beşiktaş Kagithane Eyup Metro

We have completed the construction of the Kağıthane-Airport section of the 120 km Beşiktaş (Gayrettepe) – Kağıthane – Eyüp – Istanbul Airport metro, which will be one of the few metros in the world, which will have the title of Turkey's fastest Metro at 37.5 kilometers per hour. As soon as the signaling tests are finished, we will open it in the coming days. As of April 2023, we will open the Gayrettepe - Kağıthane area into operation.

Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital Kayaşehir Metro

We have completed the construction of Başakşehir - Çam and Sakura City Hospital - Kayaşehir metro. We have brought the physical progress above 99 percent, we are opening soon. Another project in Istanbul is the physical realization of approximately 8.4 percent of the Bakırköy (IDO) - Bahçelievler - Güngören - Bağcılar (Kirazlı) metro (72 km), which will directly connect the existing Kirazlı - Başakşehir line with Bakırköy İDO. We will put the line into service in 2023.

Halkalı Arnavutkoy Metro

Another line of ours is Küçükçekmece, which is 31.5 km long.Halkalı) – Başakşehir – Arnavutköy – Istanbul Airport Metro. We have completed 80 percent of our tunneling work. We plan to complete the entire project in 2023. Works on Kazlıçeşme – Sirkeci Rail System and Pedestrian Focused New Generation Transportation Projects are also continuing. We aimed to complete it in the first half of 2023. The Altunizade – Çamlıca – Bosnia Boulevard metro works are planned to be completed in the first half of 2024.
