Disabled Vehicle Charging Stations Attract Great Interest in Samsun

Disabled vehicle charging stations, put into service by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality in order to facilitate the lives of physically disabled individuals, attract great attention. Thanks to the 18 stations established in the city center, disabled citizens can do their daily work more comfortably. Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, which produces projects that raise awareness in the society, instantly evaluates the requests from disabled individuals and turns them into services. In order to solve the charging problem of the electric vehicles of the disabled citizens, the municipality determined 9 different locations in Ilkadım, Canik and Atakum, next to Çobanlı Pier, in front of the Metropolitan Municipality, in front of the Madrasa Mosque, in front of Anıt Park, Denizevleri, Türk-İş, Faculty Tram Stops, Kurtuluş Yolu. It established 18 vehicle charging stations such as Sevgi Cafe, Kültür Park, Batıpark Cable Car, Atakum Art Center, Cumhuriyet Square, Piazza AVM, Governor's Garden in various parts of the city, especially in front of the municipal police. The stations, which were established within the scope of the social responsibility project realized by the municipality in cooperation with YEDAŞ 2 years ago, continue to provide uninterrupted service.

The stations, which are suitable for charging all battery-powered disabled vehicles, have many features. The stations with display and led indicators showing the charge level provide IP64 class protection. Charging stations in international standards with a warranty of 2 years against manufacturing defects and spare parts for 10 years, charging stations 7 hours a day, 24 days a week, ventilation with dust filter, not damaging the batteries of the vehicles, not charging in reverse connection of the battery, -15°C to +50°C It has many advantages such as being able to work in the temperature range, resistance to water, dust and impact, electrostatic powder paint, corrosion, overcurrent and short circuit protection.

Expressing that the electric vehicle charging stations have achieved their purpose, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “Before I became the President, we made a special study about the needs of Samsun and our people. Everyone in our country is a candidate for disability. It is called disabled, but the best word is we are brothers. With this awareness, we have come up with ideas on solutions that will alleviate their problems and make their lives easier, knowing how difficult their lives are.”
