Hatice Kübra İlgün, national taekwondo player from Bursa Metropolitan Belediyespor, succeeded in being the third in the world in 57 kilograms at the World Taekwondo Championship held in Mexico.

Hatice Kübra İlgün, the Olympic medalist taekwondo player of Bursa Metropolitan Belediyespor Club, continues to make us proud with her success in the tournaments she participated in. Representing our country in the women's 57 kilograms at the World Taekwondo Championship held in Mexico, İlgün managed to win a bronze medal in the event, which is the biggest organization of the year in taekwondo and gave quota points to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

In the championship, where around 123 athletes from 750 countries competed, the national taekwondo player, who passed the first round without a match, defeated Alisson Montano from El Salvador in the last 32 rounds, and faced Stacey Hymer from Australia in the last 16 rounds. Hatice Kübra İlgün, who defeated her opponent in this round, made her name in the quarter-finals. Hatice Kübra İlgün, who managed to defeat Moroccan Nada Laaraj in the quarter-finals, advanced to the semi-finals and secured the medal. Hatice Kübra İlgün, who faced Chia-Ling Lo from Taiwan in the fight for the final, lost to her opponent 2-1, won the bronze medal and became the third in the world.
