92 Million TL Support to the Cinema Industry

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism provided 2022 million 32 thousand liras to the cinema sector for 17 projects at the last support board meeting of 340. With these supports, the total amount of support provided to the cinema sector by the Ministry for 2022 projects in 293 reached 92 million 198 thousand liras.

In the last support committee of the year, projects such as "Feature Film Production", "First Feature Film Editing", "Post-shooting", "Co-Production" and "Domestic Film Screening" were evaluated by a support committee of 8 members of the cinema sector.

As a result of the evaluations, 4 million 6 thousand liras were awarded to 300 “Feature Film Film Production” projects, 6 million 6 thousand liras to 900 “First Feature Film Production” projects, 1 thousand liras to 400 “After Shooting” project, 3 “Co-Production” projects. A total of 1 million 750 thousand liras of support was provided, including 18 million 1 thousand liras and 990 million 17 thousand liras for 340 "Domestic Film Screening" projects.

Support for New Directors

With the support of the Ministry, 6 directors were allowed to make their first feature films. Many films that received support, which had an important role in bringing new directors to the sector, returned with awards from the world's most important film festivals such as Sundance, Berlin, Venice, Moscow, Sarajevo, Warsaw and Tokyo.

Support for Co-Productions

Support was provided to three projects in the "Co-Production Support" type, which has become very important in the cinema industry due to the reasons such as bringing together filmmakers from different countries, transferring information and technology, accessing local funding sources and creating potential markets. In the Board; Support was provided for the projects “Man In A Blue Sweater”, a joint production of Azerbaijan and Turkey, “2M2”, a joint production of Belgium and Turkey, and “Guria”, a joint production of Georgia, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Turkey.

Acceptance of applications for projects to be supported in 2023 will continue until 26 December.
