Hulusi Akar, Minister of National Defense, immediately moved from the Parliament to the Land Forces Command Operations Center after the meeting of the Ministry of National Defense's 2023 budget was completed at the Parliamentary Plan and Budget Committee.
Minister Akar, along with Chief of General Staff General Yaşar Güler and Land Forces Commander General Musa Avsever, held a video teleconference meeting with the commanders of the units on the border line. Minister Akar received a briefing on the latest situation in the field and gave instructions.
Stating that Operation Claw-Sword, which started with the biggest, most comprehensive and effective air operation of the last period, continued successfully, Minister Akar said, “The operation continues with punitive shootings with air and land fire support vehicles. So far, 471 targets have been brought under fire in the operation, and 254 terrorists have been neutralized.” he said.
Pointing out that the terrorists were cornered after the Turkish Armed Forces' operations, Minister Akar said, “The terrorists attacked civilian targets. We will silence them as soon as possible. We have experienced the same in Kilis, Hatay and Reyhanlı in the past. When we cleared beyond the borders, we came to a point in this regard.” used the phrases.
Minister Akar pointed out that the terrorist organization and its supporters at home and abroad, as well as the foci of sedition and mischief, are trying to spread disinformation, as is the case after every successful operation of the Turkish Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.
“They are trying to overshadow the success of the Turkish Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism with slander, sedition and mischief. I reiterate that the only target of the TAF is terrorists and structures belonging to terrorists. With any of our ethnic, religious, sectarian groups; We do not have any problems with our Kurdish and Arab brothers. We have only one target and that is terrorists. Who are they? PKK/YPG/PYD, DEASH. Whoever it is. Time of reckoning for terrorists. They will see that no games will be played with the Turkish Armed Forces. We will demand an account of every drop of blood of our martyrs, children who lost their lives, teachers and citizens.”
Minister Akar also noted that terrorists have no choice but to surrender to justice.
