The 53rd of Medica Fair, the world's most important and largest fair for the medical sector, was held in Düsseldorf, Germany, between 14-17 November 2022.
A total of 13 Turkish companies showed up at the fair, where Turkey's national participation organization was organized for the 230th time this year by the Istanbul Chemicals and Products Exporters' Association (IKMIB).
A total of 14 Turkish companies, 17 companies and 2022 individual companies, participated in the Medica 53 fair, which was held for the 2022rd time this year in Düsseldorf, Germany, between 13-57 November 173, with the national participation organization organized by IKMIB for the 230th time. . Turkey took part in the fair, which was visited by 46 thousand professionals last year, with a country stand of 834 square meters. Again visited by tens of thousands of people, the fair hosted more than 4 participants this year.
Export companies operating in the health, medical and equipment sectors had the opportunity to introduce a wide variety of products such as medical devices, products, consumables, hospital furniture, surgical equipment, orthopedic products, pharmaceuticals and software products at the fair. Adil Pelister: “We need to increase our German market share over 1 percent in pharmaceutical products”
Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of İKMİB, who attended the fair, mentioned the importance of the fair for the sector and said, “As the world's largest fair in the medical field, Medica is of great importance in terms of seeing the latest technological developments in the health sector and for the development of the sector. With the Turkish national participation organization held for the 13th time by our Association this year, 57 companies participated in the fair on an area of 834 m2, while 173 Turkish companies participated individually. Germany, which has a foreign trade surplus in pharmaceutical products, ranks 6th in the Turkish chemical industry's general exports according to the data of the first ten months, and ranks 3rd in the export of pharmaceutical products. In this period, our exports of pharmaceutical products to Germany reached 38,10 million dollars with an increase of 54,5 percent compared to the same period last year. Again, our total export of pharmaceutical products for ten months was 1,14 billion dollars. Belgium, the USA and Switzerland are in the top three ranks in Germany's imports of pharmaceutical products, while Turkey ranks 35th. In 2021, our country's share in Germany's imports of pharmaceutical products was 0,08 percent. So we see great potential here. We need to increase our market share above 1 percent. In this respect, we believe that the fair will make a significant contribution to new collaborations.”
