Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, which has the first ultra-fast charging lithium battery electric buses in Turkey, both reduced its carbon emissions to zero and saved 2 thousand 47 liters of fuel and 456 thousand 883 liras in the 558 months when the buses were put into service. Expressing that they protect nature, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, "We are doing our best for a livable Samsun, a livable world."

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality continues its environmentally friendly services without interruption. With its electric buses, Samsun sets an example for other provinces with both environmental awareness and fuel savings.

The electric buses, whose software and design are 10% domestic, also draw attention with their ultra-fast charging feature. The bus, which is charged in 90 minutes, travels approximately 1 kilometers with this charge. Citizens who use electric buses stated that they are very lucky to have an environmentally friendly Metropolitan Municipality and expressed that they are satisfied with the service. There were 132 trips per day on the E2 Express Line with electric buses throughout Samsun. In the 112 months it was put into service, 990 thousand XNUMX kilometers were covered.

CARBON EMISSION IS ZERO WITH ELECTRIC BUSES

Noting that carbon emissions have decreased to zero with electric buses, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “In the statements made by the World Health Organization, 23 percent of carbon emissions originate from transportation vehicles. With our newly purchased electric buses, we have reduced our carbon emissions to zero for the 2 thousand 112 kilometers we covered in 990 months. We are doing our best for a livable Samsun, a livable world”.

OPERATING COSTS ARE LOWER

Expressing that the convenience of operating costs is one of the advantages of using electric buses when looking at fuel costs, President Demir said, “While the operating cost of a 12-meter electric bus is 2,78 TL per kilometer, the cost of a diesel bus of the same dimensions is 10,74 TL on average. If we had done the 2 thousand 112 kilometers we have done in 990 months with diesel vehicles under normal conditions, we would have made a carbon emission of 128,53 tons. But we have reduced this to zero with electric vehicles.”

2 MONTHS 47 THOUSAND 456 LITER OF FUEL AND 883 THOUSAND 558 LIRA SAVINGS

Underlining that they save 2 thousand 47 liters of fuel in 456 months thanks to the electric buses included in the mass vehicle fleet, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “We travel 1 times and 132 thousand 3 kilometers per day on the E360 Express line with our electric buses. If we had done this road with diesel vehicles, we would have spent 47 million 456 thousand 1 liras from our budget as the cost of spending 557 thousand 83 liters of fuel. But with electric buses, this expense was 353 thousand 999,24 liras. Since we chose electric vehicles, we saved 883 thousand 558 liras from both fuel costs. Besides, we have not polluted the nature because of the zero carbon emission.”
