Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality continues its tourism investments in Yeşilgöz, one of Turkey's most mysterious sinkholes. The second phase works have also started in the Yeşilgöz Recreation Area in Tekir District, which is 60 kilometers from the city center. Within the scope of the first stage works on an area of 33 thousand square meters where the mysterious sinkhole resembling a natural aquarium with its clear water and blue color is located; walking paths, pond pier, wooden bridge, children's playground, urban furniture, buffet and barbecue areas were added. In Yeşilgöz, whose 2,5-kilometer artery has also been renewed, the second phase works including the new amphitheater, restaurant, parking area and prayer room have been started.
Half Million Tourists Targeted
Yeşilgöz Recreation Area, located on the "Literary Road" named after the writers and poets of Kahramanmaraş, was visited by approximately 2022 thousand domestic and foreign tourists in 200. With the second phase works, Yeşilgöz is preparing to offer its guests the wonders of nature, comfort and taste together, and 500 thousand visitors are targeted. It is also among the targets that the new equipment will be completed in a short time and put into the service of the citizens in the Yeşilgöz Recreation Area, whose project process has been completed.
