While fierce competition was experienced in the races held in the optimist and laser classes, the top athletes were rewarded.
Hosted by ABB, the races organized by Ankara Sailing Club to draw attention to Parkinson's disease with the project “Sea, Sailing and Surfing for Parkinson's” witnessed colorful scenes.
Stating that their aim is to raise awareness by drawing attention to Parkinson's disease, Ankara Sailing Club Treasurer Deniz Esen said, “We came together with all our members at the event we organized with the support of ABB. To the people of Ankara; We showed that it is possible to sail on the lake in this facility, that all conditions are suitable for sports here and that we are ready to do this. Within the scope of a project that aims to connect Parkinson's patients to life with sports, we discuss how patients can be rehabilitated by sailing, what scopes of sailing they can participate in, and sailing according to their illness. Our aim is to raise awareness. We tried to make people realize that Parkinson's patients do not have to stay at home, they can take part in life and they can have a role in sports as well.
Ankara City Orchestra also presented a musical feast to the participants with beautiful pieces.
