Karesi Republic Cup Cycling Races Become the Stage of Fierce Struggles

The Karesi 2 October Republic Cup Cycling Races, which was held for the second time this year, witnessed fierce struggles. Hundreds of professional athletes participated in the races organized in 29 categories for women and 4 categories for men.

As part of the celebrations of the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey, Karesi 29 October Republic Cup Cycling Races were held. Hundreds of professional athletes competed fiercely in the races held in various categories on the route of the Courtyard Life Center -Kepsut Caddesi-Avlu Caddesi Criterium. Karesi District Governor Metin Arslanbaş, Karesi Mayor Dinçer Orkan, Balıkesir Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Lokman Arıcıoğlu, Karesi Youth and Sports District Director Adem Özalp and many guests attended the starting ceremony of the races. Protocol members wished the contestants success. In the races organized in 4 categories for women and 5 categories for men, the awards were given to those who entered the stream by the guests.

CLOSE TO 200 ATHLETES ATTENDED

Karesi Mayor Dinçer Orkan, who made a statement before the competition, celebrated the 99th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic. Stating that Karesi Municipality is always with sports and athletes, Mayor Orkan said, “As Karesi Municipality, we organize the Karesi 29 October Republic Cup Cycling Races on such a meaningful day. We do these races not only on a local basis, but with our athletes from many cities. About 200 of our athletes participated in our races. How happy we are to live in Turkey, I say, How happy I am a Turk. Finally, I congratulate all of us on Republic Day. Hopefully, on this meaningful day, our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will inaugurate our domestic and national automobile, TOGG. I hope that our country will have many happy holidays with such successful works," he said.
