Samsun's Winter Tourism Center Akdağ Prepares for the Season

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality has completed 80 percent of the road widening works in Ladik Akdağ, which is the winter tourism center of the region and the city. Stating that they put long-lasting roads into service by reinforcing the infrastructure of the district, which is prepared for winter tourism, Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Demir said, "We follow every service we promise."

The Metropolitan Municipality continues its road maintenance, repair and expansion works throughout the province so that citizens can travel more safely and comfortably. With the works carried out by the teams of the Road Construction, Maintenance and Repair Department, intense work is carried out both in the city centers and on the roads in the districts. With the investments realized within the framework of a certain program, the doors of a comfortable transportation are opened to the citizens.

ROAD WIDTH INCREASED FROM 5.5 METERS TO 9 METERS

One of those places where the study was conducted is Akdağ, which is the most important winter tourism point of the region and the city. While the width of the road leading to the ski center was 5.5 meters before, it was increased to 9 meters with the expansion works of the Metropolitan Municipality. A and B type surface coatings were made. It is aimed to complete the road works, 80 percent of which have been completed, with parking points built, before the ski season.

LONG LASTING ROADS ARE BEING SERVICED

Stating that they put long-lasting roads into service by reinforcing the infrastructure of the district, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “We follow every service we promise. Based on the principle of 'the road is civilization', we are working hard to eliminate the deficiencies of roads in all parts of the city, especially in the city center. We make the prestige areas of the city worthy of Samsun. We are detecting and re-doing the defects on the roads that reach the districts and villages from the center one by one”, saying, “While we continue our investments in Samsun to become a healthy and brand city, we work without ignoring its needs. The road is at the top of these needs. We will continue to provide services to the Metropolitan Municipality, regardless of district, neighborhood or village, as we have done so far.”
