Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, pointed out that the Bitlis Stream Viaduct is the project of the "best" and said, "Our bridge is a reinforced box girder type steel deck technological bridge. At the same time; It is a 3,82-meter-long, one-piece bridge using 904 tons of steel, built for the first time on a 15 percent slope, using the grab-and-slide method. "Two Eiffel Towers could have been built with the steel used here," he said.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu attended the welding ceremony of the viaduct joining segment between Bitlis and Baykan. Emphasizing that they continue their transportation and infrastructure sanctions without stopping, Karaismailoğlu said, “With these investments, we are connecting all corners of our country with an integrated infrastructure and transforming it into a structure that serves its region and the world. By using the geographical advantages we have, we raise Turkey to the position of dominion of world trade routes. Our work in question will be one of the most important milestones of the 'Turkish Century' by placing our country among the world's leading economies. To this end, we continue our work without interruption,” he said.

Referring to the openings in October, Karaismailoğlu said that they put the Pendik Sabiha Gökçen Airport metro line into service in Istanbul on October 2. Karaismailoğlu said, “We reduced the 11-minute road to 50 minutes with the Ayvacık Küçükkuyu Road, which includes the Assos and Troy Tunnels in Çanakkale, on October 5, and gave the Kaz Mountains a breath of fresh air” and continued his speech as follows:

“On Saturday, the Malatya Hekimhan Road, which has a total length of 104,3 kilometers, has 14 bridges and 8 tunnels, connects Malatya with Sivas and shortens the journey time by 35 minutes, has a total length of 30 kilometers and transforms Diyarbakır into the region on Sunday. We put the Diyarbakır Ring Road, which connects the most important transportation axes and reduces the travel time from 40 minutes to 15 minutes, into the service of our nation. Our feast of art and service will continue without stopping. How happy are we; Every time we meet with you, we have a new service to Bitlis, which carries the traces of thousands of years old civilization. Explaining that during the 20-year AK Party governments, they approached Turkey as a whole without separating east and west, Karaismailoğlu stated that they covered Turkey with their integrated transportation and infrastructure systems. in 20 years; Pointing out that they have invested 1 trillion 631 billion 580 million liras in Turkey's transportation and communication sector, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “We took the divided road length from 6 thousand 100 kilometers in our country, increased it 5 times to 28 thousand 770 kilometers. The tunnel length on our highways was only 50 kilometers. We've increased that 13 times. Now we have increased it to 663 kilometers. We are taking the bridge and viaduct length from 311 kilometers and increasing it to 732 kilometers.


Emphasizing that Bitlis received its deserved share from the important investments made throughout the country during the AK Party governments, Karaismailoğlu said, “We have spent approximately 12 billion 520 million liras for Bitlis' transportation and communication investments so far. During our governments; We increased the length of the divided highway in the province of Bitlis from 19 kilometers to 302 kilometers and increased it 15 times. During the period of our governments, we increased the transportation budget allocated to Bitlis approximately 40 times. In the last 20 years; In Bitlis, we have completed the construction and improvement of a single road of 359 kilometers. We built 2 tunnels with a total length of 3 thousand 5 kilometers, 850 single tube and 5 double tube. Restorations of the historical Gazi Bey, Ulucami, Çağlayan, Paşa Hamam, Şerefiye 1 and 2, Pamukcular, Hatuniye and Alemdar bridges continue. We will finish these restorations by the end of this year. The total project cost of 10 different highways under construction in Bitlis is 5 billion 720 million liras.


Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “Bitlis Stream Viaduct, which forms the North-South axis in our region; Habur, together with the Esendere, Gürbulak, Kapıköy border gates, is at a crossroad that provides access to the eastern provinces to the southern provinces. On the Bitlis-Baykan Road route, which is the historical silk road; Bitlis Stream Viaduct; Thanks to the construction of 900 meters and 2 thousand 100 meters of connection roads, we will have the opportunity to travel uninterruptedly, safely and comfortably. Our project will also make serious contributions to the socio-economic development of the region along with agriculture and animal husbandry.”

At the same time, Karaismailoğlu stated that the Bitlis Stream Viaduct is the project of the “best” and continued his speech as follows:

“Our bridge is a reinforced box girder type steel deck technological bridge. At the same time; It is a 3,82-meter-long, one-piece bridge using 904 tons of steel, built for the first time on a 15 percent slope, using the grab-and-slide method. Approximately 600 kilometers of welds have been made on our bridge, where 50 thousand cubic meters of concrete is used. Two Eiffel Towers could be built with the steel used here. Our bridge, whose welding ceremony is held today, is 1000 percent domestic and national with its domestic engineering, design and construction. With this aspect, it is a source of pride for all of us, for our Bitlis. In our transportation and communication investments; There is no east-west distinction. Our priorities are; need and development. We; Along with the Kömürhan, Ağın and Nissibi bridges, we built the Bitlis Stream Viaduct in the class of 'technological bridges'.”


Reminding that the Küçüksu-Hizan-Pervari Road, which also includes the Begendik (Botan) Bridge, Turkey's highest bridge, was put into service in 2020, Karaismailoğlu said that; He noted that many very important transportation projects have been implemented for Turkey, especially in the provinces of Bitlis, Siirt and Van. Announcing that 1 million 587 thousand vehicles have passed through the Botan Bridge since the day it was put into service, Karaismailoğlu said, “Just like the Botan Bridge and the connection roads, thanks to the divided roads we have built in Bitlis, we now meet our homes and loved ones comfortably, safely and quickly. How happy; It was our privilege to provide you with the services you deserve.”
