İzmir, the capital of wind, has started to come to the fore with its companies that produce equipment and provide services in the fields of solar, biomass and geothermal energy.

The second of the 4 Clean Meeting events to be organized within the scope of the BEST For Energy Project carried out by İzmir Development Agency and ENSİA was held in Istanbul on 15 October 13 at the 2022th EIF World Energy Congress and Fair. 20 companies that produce equipment and provide services to the clean energy sector in İzmir and its surroundings, and 50 companies from abroad participated in the bilateral business meetings held with the theme of "Clean Meet - Clean Energy Meetings". Firms in Izmir clean energy and clean technology ecosystem, 208 business meetings in total with their counterparts from Spain, England, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Norway, Germany, Hungary, France, Romania, Denmark, Netherlands, Russia, Jordan, Serbia, Azerbaijan and Morocco performed. With the bilateral business meetings held, the foundation of new international business contacts was laid.

Saying that as ENSİA, the number of corporate members has reached 85, the chairman of ENSİA's board of directors, Alper Kalaycı, stated that ENSİA has become a national cluster in the clean energy sector. Kalaycı, who said that they have carried out many activities recently to increase the integration of their members into the global supply chain, said that they are trying to accelerate the integration process with technical trips to Spain and Denmark, especially on wind energy, and bilateral business meetings held within the scope of international fairs in Turkey.

Kalaycı said that while establishing connections that will accelerate the integration process, on the other hand, they have developed the capacities of member companies with training and consultancy programs, and that we will see the outputs of these studies as a country in the coming period. He stated that they will hold the next bilateral business meeting event, which aims to make İzmir a production center in the clean energy sector, which provides significant added value and employment, at the Marentech fair held on October 26-28, 2023 with the theme of offshore energy systems technologies.
