Hyundai Motor Company has achieved a top range of 6 kilometers per charge on the IONIQ 614, according to the world-wide light vehicle test procedure (WLTP). The IONIQ 6, which will be produced with Hyundai's Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), offers a superior power unit (77.4 kWh) that provides both stress-free driving pleasure and performance. With the new generation battery technology developed by Hyundai, a consumption of 100 kWh per 13,9 kilometers is achieved, and it will also be one of the most efficient battery-electric models (BEV) in the countries where it will be sold.
Eyeing leadership from the very beginning of its development, the IONIQ 6 claims the best possible BEV performance and ownership experience. IONIQ 6, which will support different lifestyles, will offer both economy and driving performance.
The impressive electric driving performance of the IONIQ 6 comes from Hyundai's specially developed E-GMP platform for EVs and ultra-low wind resistance. The E-GMP offers optimum electrical performance and a range of 15 kilometers in just 351 minutes of charging. At the same time, at 350 kWh ultra-charging stations, it can fill its battery between 18 and 10 percent in about 80 minutes. IONIQ 6, just like its sibling IONIQ 5, also has 800V ultra fast charging feature. It also supports 400V charging without the need for additional components or adapters.
IONIQ 6 offers a long wheelbase of 2.950 mm for the passengers in the vehicle to travel comfortably. The new generation car thus makes the most of the flexibility of the E-GMP to achieve segment leadership. Together with E-GMP, the car, which offers innovative Vehicle Power Supply (V2L) technology, turns into a giant portable power bank.
How did the IONIQ 6 achieve the lowest coefficient of friction of 0.21 cd?
Hyundai has not only maximized the all-electric driving range of the IONIQ 6 with its extensive aerodynamic design and engineering studies, but also enabled the vehicle to achieve a drag coefficient of 0,21 cd. One of the lowest values in the automotive world, 0.21 cd, was achieved with friction-reducing parts such as the active air damper, wheel air curtains, integrated rear spoiler and wheel arch. The modern structure and aerodynamics on the design also place the IONIQ 6 among the most stylish vehicles in the world.
