Fashion Prime and Fashion Tech Fairs Opened Their Doors

Fashion Prime and Fashion Tech fairs, which brought together the ready-made clothing industry, opened their doors under the hosting of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the fairs, where many products and machines were exhibited in İzmir for the first time in Turkey, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu said, “We will continue to make efforts to make İzmir a city of fairs and congresses, and to ensure that everyone from the manufacturer to the worker gets the value they deserve.” .

Fashion Prime-Textile, Ready-to-Wear Suppliers and Technologies Fair organized by İZFAŞ and Fashion Tech - Ready-to-Wear Clothing, Apparel and Textile Machinery, Textile Printing Technologies Fair held in cooperation with İZFAŞ-İzgi Fuarcılık brought the ready-made clothing and textile industry together in İzmir. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality hosted the opening ceremony of the fairs held in Fuar İzmir, as well as İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu, Gaziemir Mayor Halil Arda, İzmir Chambers of Craftsmen and Craftsmen's Union President Zekeriya Mutlu, Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association Chairman Burak. Sertbaş, heads of chambers, unions and associations, representatives of political parties, ambassadors, rectors and many sector representatives attended.

Speaking at the ceremony, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu said that as İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, they act with the awareness of the contributions that fairs make to many sectors. We know that there are investors closing the production facility today, and we are saddened. Fairs inspire us in times like these. We know that these fairs, which will make many shares, will have a significant impact on the sector. We want to see many more companies at this fair next year. 100 years ago, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk revealed his vision of becoming a city of fairs and congresses at the Izmir Economy Congress. Referring to the importance of face-to-face fairs for the sector after the pandemic, Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association Chairman of the Board (EHKİB) Burak Sertbaş said, “This year, we are participating in the fair with 33 member companies of our association. After IF Wedding, Fashion Prime and Fashion Tech fairs will give our city and region a different power and momentum. Remembrance of our city with fairs is very important for the promotion of our Izmir in the local and international arena. As sector stakeholders, we should always support and show interest in such sectoral fairs. The way our region becomes a center of attraction for both domestic and foreign buyers, thanks to its success in raw materials and finished products, its capacity, speed and quality, is through regular visits to such fairs. We should not forget that the connections made with buyers at these fairs will contribute to our business volume, thus to our export figures and the country's economy.”

700 years old Municipal Weaving Loom

After the opening speeches, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu and the participants visited the fair area and wished success to the sector representatives. The “Trend Area” established at the fair attracted great attention from the visitors. The special production replica of the 700-year-old “Beledi Weaving Loom” and the “Urgan Wheel” exhibited in the Tire City Museum in the area was appreciated.

Many products and machines were exhibited at the Fair Izmir for the first time in Turkey in simultaneous fairs. In the first 9 months of this year, the ready-made clothing and apparel industry, which broke export records and exported a total of 16,17 billion dollars throughout Turkey, showed great interest in the fairs. More than 50 brands participated in the fairs held on an area of ​​430 thousand square meters in two halls. More than 50 thousand professional visitors from 20 countries and Turkey are expected to come to the fair.

Famous designer Fırat Neziroğlu prepared the trend area

The fair will also meet the needs of the industry with its mixed fabric fashion shows, workshops and the "Trend Area" consisting of accessories, fabrics and ready-made clothing. The Fabric Accessories and Ready-to-Wear Trend Area in the B Foyer is international artist Fırat Neziroğlu. In the specially prepared fashion show area, mixed fabric fashion shows will be held throughout the fair. Ali Bozkan's Sewing Machine Exhibition from Past to Present, Fırat Karapınar's Carnival Costume and Accessory Design Exhibition, and Ege University Fashion and Design School Denim Draping Exhibition can be seen during the fairs. During the fair, there will be conversations about the past and future of the textile and ready-made clothing industry. The "From Thread to Art" project, which was implemented with the String Art Technique using 97 meters of rope in 48 colors, with 926 hours of practice, will also be exhibited at the fair. The fairs will host their visitors until October 74.
