The world-famous automobile giant BMW Group has decided to transfer the electric vehicle production line of the MINI brand under its roof from its factory in Oxford to Zhangjiagang, China, and to invest an additional 10 billion yuan in the battery factory in Shenyang.
Britain's former prime minister, May and Johnson, saw electric vehicles as the country's best opportunity to revive the auto industry. Expectations are high from one of the UK's most famous brands, MINI.
Stefanie Wurst, who manages the MINI brand, explained the reason for transferring the production lines to China, stating clearly: “Our factory in Oxford is not yet ready for the electric vehicle.”
