Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “I hope we will have the metro connection of Istanbul Airport next month.”
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu answered questions on TRT Haber. Here are the highlights of Minister Karaismailoğlu's statements:
“When you build one unit of transportation infrastructure in a region, you provide ten units of benefit to the region. In this way, tourism increases and employment increases.
We don't just build subways in Istanbul. We do it in other provinces where the population density is high. Of course, Istanbul takes the biggest share. Providing such a quality transportation service is a must in such big metropolises. The rail line length in Istanbul has exceeded 270 kilometers. We also assist local governments in the work that needs to be done.
Hopefully, we will provide the metro connection of Istanbul Airport next month. We will put the Başakşehir-Kayaşehir metro into service before the end of this year. We are trying to develop our line that will connect Bakırköy and Kirazlı by the beginning of 2023.”
