“Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Stagnant Water Canoe Republic Cup” races, organized in cooperation with Ordu Metropolitan Municipality and Turkey Canoe Federation, came to an end.
Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Durgun Water Sports Center and Campground, which was realized with the great efforts of Mehmet Hilmi Güler, hosted another organization.
In the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Durgun Su Canoe Republic Cup, held with the participation of 250 athletes and trainers from various provinces of Turkey from Muğla to Şanlıurfa, canoe athletes rowed fiercely in various categories. The interest of canoe and sports fans in the race was very intense.
After the races with exciting competition, the top athletes received their medals and cups at a ceremony.
“WE WILL HOST INTERNATIONAL RACES IN THE FUTURE”
Stating that the Durgun Water Sports Center and Camping Area, which is the only one in Turkey with its equipment, can host international races in the future, Deputy Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality Celal Tezcan said, “A very nice sports field has been created here. This facility is in Turkey. In the future, we will also host international races here. Our athletes and coaches from various provinces are welcome to our city. Sport is friendship, it is the future, it is beauty.

Saying that Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Durgun Water Sports Center and Camping Area is a track prepared in European standards, Turkish Canoe Federation Technical Board Chairman Tolga Çelik said, "This track is an incomparable blessing for those who are interested in water sports like us."
Celik, Chairman of the Technical Board of the Canoe Federation, said:
“First of all, I would like to thank the Mayor of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality and everyone who hosted us here. We are here on a very meaningful day. We are in a joint competition organized by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality and Turkish Canoe Federation. We are proud to be here. This track and campus in Ordu is a great achievement for Turkey. This track is a blessing for those who are interested in water sports like us. Prepared to European standards. Therefore, we would like to thank our Mayor, Hilmi Güler, and all those who contributed.”
“SUCH A FACILITY NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT WITH EVERYTHING”
Ali Kemal Sarar, a canoe athlete from Şanlıurfa, stated that he loved the facility built in Ordu and that such facilities should be provided in every province. Canoe athlete Sarar said, “I came from Şanlıurfa. I have been dealing with this sport for 7 years. I love this facility of Ordu and its tracks. This track is at the Olympic level. Such a facility should be brought in with each and every one. It is a beautiful country," he said.

National canoe athlete Evrim Bostancı, who participated in the competition from Rize, said, “I have been dealing with this sport for 5 years and I am a national athlete. We have been going to Ordu for 2 years now. We really love the facility here. There are some really nice race tracks. I thank our President”.

Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Healthy Life Youth and Sports Club canoe athlete Mehmet Emre Arslan stated that he has been interested in canoeing for 2 years and gave this opportunity to them, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Thanks to Mehmet Hilmi Güler.
Canoe athlete Arslan said:
“I have been an athlete of the Ordu Metropolitan Belediyespor team for 2 years. Today, October 29, the races are held. First of all, we would like to thank our president for bringing this facility to Ordu. It gave us a lot of possibilities.”
