With its rich history, cultural features, beaches, beaches, plateaus and natural beauties, the tourism sector in the city continues to develop with the infrastructure works of the Metropolitan Municipality in the districts. One of them is Ladik, the touristic district of the city with its thermal springs, natural lake, Ambarköy Open Air Museum and the most modern ski facility in the region.

GREAT ATTENTION IS GIVEN

Making efforts to increase the tourism potential of the district, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality attaches great importance to Akdağ Ski Center. The ski center, which is 80 km from Samsun and 7 km from the district, is flooded by local tourists in winter. The 1360-post and 16-chair chairlift in the facility, which has a track length of 84 meters, takes ski lovers to the peak of excitement.

SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE CONTINUES

The municipality, which made additional investments so that the facility could serve the tourists who want to do grass skiing not only in winter but also in summer, took the chairlift into maintenance this time. Within the scope of chairlift maintenance, which was tendered for 6 million 836 thousand TL, the teams carry out many technical studies. By replacing 230 roller tires, 460 bearings and 74 filing systems on the poles with new ones, the teams controlling the roller shafts and bushings will adjust the axles of the poles. Within the scope of maintenance and repair, 300-meter-long carrier ropes, flywheel bearings of the driving station, service brake linings and wheel tires will be replaced with new ones. In addition, the rescue engines will be overhauled, and torque checks of the terminal and anchorage connections of 86 two-person chairs will be made using the non-destructive testing method, and they will be mounted in place. The automation system and the facility communication line and the weight concrete of the return station will also be renewed.

The chairlift system, whose modernization started with the approval of the tender, will be put into operation during the winter tourism season. Providing information about maintenance and repair works, Electrical Technician Onur Albayrak, Akdağ Ski Facility Responsible of the Machinery Supply and Repair Department, said, “The maintenance and repair works of our chairlift are continuing in order to bring our facility to the winter season. In terms of automation, all maintenance is carried out, mechanical parts are handled one by one. In addition, the bastions are dismantled and the iron pieces are tested for cracks or cracks. Hopefully, our chairlift will be put into service in December or early January.

WORKS ARE EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETED

One of the citizens, Salih Telli, who stated that he found the maintenance and repair work of the Metropolitan Municipality very good in terms of the development of tourism in the district, said, “The works in our facility are progressing very well with the investments made by our municipality. This is very important for the development of tourism in our district. The ski center is the only one in the Central Black Sea and the pearl of our district. Last year, domestic tourists, who came to ski because the chairlift and snow machine did not work, could not see enough satisfaction. Our long-distance skiers could not experience this pleasure. Many have returned. I would like to thank our Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Demir for his services and investments”.
