Van Governor Ozan Balcı attended the opening ceremony of the “Sports Van Project”, which is one of the prestige projects of Van and will contribute greatly to the infrastructure of sports.
Athletes and children enthusiastically welcomed Governor Ozan Balcı, who came to the ceremony area by cycling with the skaters and young cyclists who greeted him.
Speaking at the ceremony, which started with a moment of silence and the singing of our National Anthem, Governor Ozan Balcı expressed his happiness to be together with an enthusiastic sports community.
Full Support for Sports Activities
Governor Ozan Balcı stated that he is a manager who loves sports and athletes and said, “I support sports activities. We will support our physical education teachers, our trainers, our national education community, our teachers, our youth sports organization, our students, in short, everyone from seven to seventy who love sports, to engage in a sport or to be a good follower of a sport. We attach great importance to the academic success of our children. However, we also care about the physical and spiritual development of children. Engaging in sports, reading books for at least one hour a day, and dealing with fine arts will contribute to their academic success. I am very happy to use all the opportunities, talents and potential of our state and nation for the Spor Van Project, for our children. I trust all the staff, sports fans and our sports children who will take part in this project. We will own this project and we will be successful.”

Emphasizing that he will support all activities related to sports in every sense and that the investments continue, Governor Ozan Balcı said:
“We are building the volleyball and basketball courts of all our schools. We are building 14 swimming pools in our city center and districts. We will offer 17 indoor gymnasiums to the service of our children. We are opening a sports factory. In memory of the project, we are establishing a facility consisting of a volleyball court, basketball court and carpet field in each district under the name "Spor Van 2023". By Allah's leave, the children of our Van will run from success to success and will receive all the regional, national and international medals. Education is our number one job. We invest heavily in education. We're going to do more good things about education. Good luck with the Sports Van Project to our city and our children, who are our future.”
After the speech, Governor Ozan Balcı, who took photos with the young athletes and children and participated in the activities, did not break the invitation of the young people and danced the halay with the folklore team.
Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Mehmet Fatih Çelikel, Deputy Governor Adem Balkanlıoğlu, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Hüseyin Bekmez, Provincial Police Chief Atanur Aydın, institution directors, physical education teachers, sportsmen, coaches and sports children attended the opening ceremony.
