The bridges, which were built by the Metropolitan Municipality in place of the two bridges that have "completed their economic life" on the Cenup Canal and Deliçay in the Samanlı District, were opened to traffic with a ceremony.

Continuing its efforts to produce radical solutions to the transportation problem in Bursa, the Metropolitan Municipality is also renovating the old bridges that have difficulty in meeting the needs. The two bridges over Deliçay Stream and Cenup Canal, which were built in Yıldırım's Samanlı District about 40 years ago and can no longer meet the traffic load in the region, were renewed by the Metropolitan Municipality. In place of the old bridges, which were demolished in March, two separate bridges with a span of 26,5 meters and a width of 14 meters, a span of 24 meters and a width of 18 meters were built. The bridges connecting the plains of Yıldırım and Gürsu to each other and to the city center will also be an important alternative for the ring road connection. Bridges, one of the most important demands of the people of the region, were opened with a ceremony attended by Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş, Bursa Deputy Refik Özen, AK Party Provincial Deputy Chairman Mustafa Yavuz, Yıldırım Deputy Mayor Yusuf Demirok and the residents of the region.

Everything for Bursa

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that the bridges, which is one of the important demands of the residents of the neighborhood, do not remove the current density. Noting that the lowland neighborhoods of Yıldırım and Gürsu are connected to each other and the city center with the renewed bridges, Mayor Aktaş said, “It has been an important project for the rapidly developing agricultural activities in the region, cold storage, agricultural product shipment and transportation of both districts' industries. Thus, traffic congestion is eliminated with the bridges, which are important for the connection to the ring road. Everything is Bursa, everything is for Bursa residents. We do not think for a second apart from Bursa. We continue to work hard for Bursa. Look, Courthouse Junction is almost finished. Work on Yunuseli Bridge continues. We laid the foundation of Balıklıdere Bridge. There are serious investments in traffic and transportation. Hopefully, you will see that 'when these are completed', there will be serious relief and we will fulfill our promises one by one. We will continue to provide social assistance. We will build infrastructure and superstructure as well as bridges and intersections. Together, we will make Bursa, one of the most beautiful cities in Turkey, more livable.”

Bursa Deputy Refik Özen stated that he has been writing a new story for 20 years under the leadership of Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Reminding that bridges, roads, hospitals, schools and universities were built one after another and put into service, Özen emphasized that many services were implemented locally and in general. Özen wished the Samanlı bridges built by the Metropolitan Municipality to be beneficial.

Yıldırım Deputy Mayor Yusuf Demirok also stated that they have made many investments in Yıldırım with the contributions of the Metropolitan Municipality.

After the speeches; Samanlı bridges were opened to traffic by the President Aktaş and the members of the protocol by cutting the ribbon.
