Within the scope of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality's 'There is Life in This Camp' project, 11 disabled people and their families benefited from Mavi Işıklar Education, Recreation and Rehabilitation Center, which has the only beach for the disabled in Turkey this year. Disabled individuals participating in the free camp had a fun time by resting. Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Demir said that they have created all kinds of comfort to make them comfortable.
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Department of Social Services, Department of Elderly and Disabled Services, which offers free holidays to our disabled citizens every year, continues to host disabled individuals living in 17 districts and their families within the scope of social responsibility projects. As the summer camps organized within the framework of the 2022 events came to an end, the 1-day camps held between 30 June and 4 September attracted great attention.
FREE HOLIDAY IN HOTEL COMFORT
The Blue Işıklar Education, Recreation and Rehabilitation Center with a 34-bed capacity with the comfort of a hotel, restaurant, swimming pool with elevator, children's playgrounds and sports areas, is the first choice of disabled people for their vacations with city trips and evening entertainment. Disabled people, who are taken from their homes with special vehicles and brought to the camp with their families, enjoy swimming by entering the pool. Disabled people, who have the opportunity to rest on the beach, experience unforgettable moments in the organized activities. In addition to entertainment, individuals participate in awareness-raising seminars and receive psycho-social support from corporate experts. At the end of the camp, they are left to their homes by vehicles.
11 thousand 400 people benefited
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, which will continue its free summer camps with the 'There is Life in This Camp' project, hosted 3 disabled people and their families in this year's camp. 564 thousand 7 disabled people and their companions benefited from the semi-Olympic swimming pool. Our municipality served 836 thousand 11 citizens in total.
WE MAKE THEIR LIVES EASIER
Expressing that they will continue the camp service next year, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir noted that they will not leave disabled citizens who do not take a vacation. Stating that they have created all kinds of comfort for their comfort, President Demir said, “We attach great importance to our disabled citizens. We strive to provide all kinds of services that will make their life easier. There were disabled people and their families who could not find the opportunity to take a vacation in our districts until today. With the 'There is Life in This Camp' project that we started, we enable them to have a free holiday” and said, “Thanks to our camps, we want them to be more active in social life. Everything is for them. Our center is unique in Turkey with all its infrastructure, functionality and functions. It is very important for them to meet with water for the rehabilitation of their physical condition. With this camp, we bring them together with water in our semi-olympic swimming pool. We organize city tours during the day for our disabled citizens who also benefit from our beach. On these trips, they see the natural, cultural and touristic beauties of our city. They also have a pleasant time with our entertainment activities. It makes us very happy to host them.”
