The PCR Diagnosis and Variant Analysis Kit, designed and developed by Near East University scientists, has been approved for use by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey. Thus, the TRNC's native PCR Diagnosis and Variant Analysis Kit, developed and produced by the Near East University together with Hibrigen Biotechnology, can be used in Turkey as well.
The PCR Diagnosis and Variant Analysis Kit, developed to detect the COVID-2 disease caused by SARS-CoV-19, determines the presence of the virus in less than an hour, while at the same time typing its variants.
The SARS-CoV-2 PCR Diagnosis and Variant Analysis Kit, designed entirely by Near East University scientists, has been approved as a strong domestic alternative to the test kits imported by the TRNC from abroad, with the approval of the Ministry of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in July 2021. had begun to be used.

Stating that the PCR Diagnosis and Variant Analysis Kit, developed within the Near East University, is one of the most comprehensive variant analysis kits among the kits used commercially around the world, Prof. Dr. Günsel said, “We will continue to introduce value-added products to the world with many projects developed and designed by our scientists in our own research laboratories.” prof. Reminding that they produced the PCR Diagnosis and Variant Analysis Kit they developed together with Hibrigen Biotechnology, Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “The kit we developed gives all the results to detect COVID-19, including variant analysis, in less than an hour. It is a very valuable step to make our product available in Turkey, as we have obtained a usage permit from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey.
