Ovine Support to 34 Producers in Izmir

A total of 34 sheep and goats were delivered to 132 producers, who completed the breeding training organized by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality in Beydağ. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu, Beydağ Mayor Feridun Yılmazlar, Metropolitan Municipality Agricultural Services Department Head Şevket Meriç, Beydağ Chamber of Agriculture President Ünal İçmesu, Çömlekçi Agricultural Development Cooperative President Soner Kılıçarslan, metropolitan bureaucrats and the people of the region attended the ceremony in Beydağ.

“Animal stock doubled”

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Chairman Mustafa Özuslu stated that the producer in Beydağ takes care of their animals and that the animal presence in the district doubled in this way. In order to support livestock husbandry in rural areas, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has so far served 462 districts in Aliağa, Bayındır, Bergama, Beydağ, Dikili, Güzelbahçe, Karaburun, Kemalpaşa, Kınık, Kiraz, Menderes, Menemen, Ödemiş, Seferihisar, Selçuk, Tire, Torbalı, Urla and Foça. A total of 3 animals were distributed to 305 producers, of which 12 are women.

In addition, 99 sacks of lamb rearing feed were provided to 2 producers in Beydağ, two boats to Beydağ Aquaculture Cooperative, and a 892-ton milk cooling tank to Beydağ Agricultural Development Cooperative. In addition, 6 thousand 41 fruit saplings and 735 thousand 2022 saplings were distributed in 10 as part of the afforestation project.
