Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that the restoration of the Historical Akköprü, which has been 800 years since its construction, has been completed and said that they have brought back the historical and cultural heritage of the Capital, which hosts more than 5 million tourists a year. Emphasizing that they have completed the restoration of 13 historical bridges, 419 of which are this year, Karaismailoğlu said, "Those who do not embrace the past have no future."
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu attended the opening ceremony of the Historical Ankara White Bridge, whose restoration was completed. Explaining that they continue to impose Transport and Infrastructure sanctions in line with the vision drawn by the AK Party government, Karaismailoğlu said, “With these investments, we connect all corners of our country with an integrated infrastructure and transform it into a structure that serves its region and the world. By using the geographical advantages we have, we raise Turkey to the position of dominion of world trade routes. Our projects will be one of the most important milestones of the 'Turkish Century' by placing our country among the world's leading economies. For this reason, our Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure continues its work without interruption.
Karaismailoğlu noted that they made the Kaz Mountains breathe by reducing the 11-minute road to 50 minutes on the Ayvacık-Küçükkuyu Road, which also includes the Assos and Troy Tunnels, on October 5, in Çanakkale. , said that they have put into service the Hekimhan Road, which connects Malatya to Sivas and shortens the journey time by 104 minutes. Karaismailoğlu stated that they put the Diyarbakır Southwest Ring Road, which has a total length of 14 kilometers, connecting Diyarbakır to the most important transportation axes of the region and reducing the travel time from 8 minutes to 35 minutes, into the service of the nation on Sunday. We made the last source of the Bitlis Stream Viaduct, which is an engineering marvel, the first in the world in its class. We put the Bitlis Ring Road into service," he said.

Pointing out that roads, inns, baths and bridges have a special place in their understanding of civilization, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:
“We; We know that building inns, baths, fountains and bridges were the first works of our ancestors who had the understanding of 'service to the public is service to God'. When we say 'we came to serve our nation', we act with the same feelings as our ancestors. This understanding is the basis, root and tradition of the services we provide to our nation. One of the important examples of this is the White Bridge. These structures were built sometimes for necessity and sometimes for charity. They have carried the blessings, beauty and spirituality of solidarity that have been given until today. These works are also a sign of our culture and values. They remind us again and again what it means to serve the nation. How happy; We ensure that these works of ours will live for many more years, and that this spiritual first will be passed on from generation to generation. All together today; We share the pride and honor of our Akköprü, which has been used for hundreds of years, to stand upright again and to bring it back to our culture. Our bridge, which was built in 1222 by the Governor of Ankara, Kızıl Bey, during the reign of the Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat I, is the title deed of our civilization in these lands. This beautiful bridge, which has been built for 800 years, is a rare structure that has survived until the last periods of the Ottoman Empire, where those who went to the military and pilgrimage were sent off, the first step on the path of rights and freedom or conquest was taken. Akköprü served as the starting point of the Ankara-Istanbul section of the old Baghdad trade route. We have completed the restoration process of Akköprü, which has an important mission not only in terms of culture but also in commercial terms, which has worn out over time due to its intense use. We carried out a very sensitive study. We have appointed academicians and architects who are experts in the field of museum and art history.”
Karaismailoğlu stated that the bridge, which has a total length of 79 meters, has 8 piers and 7 pointed arches and a floor width of 5,7 meters, adding that they have brought the Historical Akköprü back to the historical and cultural heritage of the Capital, which hosts more than 5 million tourists a year.
WE COMPLETED THE RESTORATION OF 419 HISTORICAL BRIDGE
Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, said:
“Since 2003, there are 2 registered historical bridges made of stone, wood, iron and reinforced concrete in the inventory of our General Directorate of Highways. In addition, there are 421 historical bridges from the Ottoman Period abroad. As the Ministry, we have completed the restoration of 316 historical bridges since 2003, 13 of them this year. Historical Malabadi Bridge, Kızılin (Göksu) Bridge, Kastamonu Taşköprü, Suleiman the Magnificent and Ani (Ocaklı) Bridge in Büyükçekmece, Edirne Long Bridge, Silivri Mimar Sinan Bridge and Short Bridge, Historical Hıdırlık Bridge in Tokat, Tekgöz in Kayseri Kocasinan and Höbektaş bridges, Yahyalı Kapuzbaşı Historical Bridge are just a few of them… Also; Restoration work continues on 419 historical bridges. The Çubuk Historical Develioğlu Bridge in Ankara is one of them. We continue to work to ensure that our capital, like our country, takes the place it deserves in the world, with our historical monuments, giant projects, transportation and infrastructure investments.”
WE INCREASED MORE THAN 400 PERCENT INVESTMENTS IN HIGHWAYS IN ANKARA
Emphasizing that they spent approximately 2022 billion 128 million liras for Ankara's transportation and communication investments during the AK Party governments, according to 775 figures, Karaismailoğlu said, “The length of the divided road in our capital was only 466 kilometers. In our work, we have doubled this number and reached 2 kilometers. Nearly 1187 percent of Ankara's highways have reached the divided road standard. During the period of our governments, we built 60 single tube and 1 double tube tunnels with a total length of close to 1 thousand 4 kilometers in Ankara. We have built 600 bridges with a total length of more than 13 kilometers across the province. We increased the expenditure allocated for the construction of highways in Ankara by more than 900 percent, to 182 billion 400 million liras. Our work continues intensively on our 19 different highway projects in Ankara. In these, the total project costs are close to 400 billion 23 million liras.
Karaismailoğlu, who stated that they will continue to keep the historical, cultural, geographical and environmental sensitivity at the highest level while working hard for the reconstruction of Turkey's transportation and communication at superior standards, said, "The most important route of Ankara-Beypazarı-Nallıhan-Istanbul, which is an alternative to our Ankara-Istanbul state road. We have changed the approved project in Davutoğlan Wildlife Development area and bird sanctuary crossing so that wildlife and birds are not affected. By crossing this line with bridges and tunnels, we once again showed our respect for nature.”
