IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlustarted the rail welding works on the Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli metro line, which will pass through 3 districts on the Anatolian side, with 8 stations and a length of 10,9 kilometers. The line, which was started in 2017 and stopped 7 months later, was restarted by the previous IMM administration in 2018, but was abandoned for the second time. Receiving construction sites with a 4 percent progress Ekrem İmamoğlu The new IMM administration led by the IMM has even made an improvement of 65 percent. Saying, “The level reached at the moment is magnificent,” İmamoğlu shared the information that the first stage between Sancaktepe-Çekmeköy will be completed in 2023, and the Sultanbeyli stage will be completed in the last quarter of 2024.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) started the construction of the Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli metro line in May 2017. The project was discontinued on December 7, 29, just 2017 months after construction began. Construction resumed in March 2018. However, due to the inability to make progress payments by the former IMM administration, the construction site fell into silence in October 4, while an improvement of 2018 percent had been achieved so far. Ekrem İmamoğlu Under the chairmanship of the IMM, the new IMM management started the remanufacturing of the line by obtaining a loan from Deutsche Bank with the agreement made in October 2019. On the line, where progress was achieved at the level of about 65 percent, rail welding processes started. Welded the first rails at Sancaktepe Assembly Station together with İBB Deputy Secretary General Pelin Alpkökin and construction site workers, İmamoğlu made his assessments on the subject among the employees.

COMMITTED TO 41 MINERS

At the beginning of his speech, commemorating the 41 mine workers who lost their lives in the firedamp explosion in Bartın, İmamoğlu said, “Unfortunately, I commemorate our mine workers who lost their lives last weekend here with mercy and gratitude. Our condolences, nation. I wish their families deep patience. I hope the God helps them. We are with the nation and all families. May Allah grant us safe, trouble-free and trouble-free environments in such works. Let's not bleed the fingers of our working brothers here. The loss of a life is never important from the work we do. When there are losses, one's heart burns. In this respect, we would like to thank our contractor and all our employees, who approach occupational safety and worker safety with care and diligence, and we try to be careful and sensitive in all our working environments.”

“THE LEVEL RECEIVED NOW is AWESOME”

Saying, "We are here with pride on one side," İmamoğlu shared the following information with the public:

“We are working hard on our Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli line. We took over this line at 3-4 percent levels. There were some site installations, some shaft work and some tunnel work. Even these, unfortunately, were discontinued. Let's also express this: Although there is no advance payment here, this is a line that has been started. It was done with good intentions. But of course, when we arrived, we found that the work had stopped and there was no source, and we quickly set out with the question 'How can we start the work here'. With a loan facility we obtained from Deutsche Bank, and then a bond issue, we paved the way. The current level is amazing. Because, there is a labor process that exceeds 2,5 years. And in this labor process, there is the first part where we reach 65 percent. Our goal for this first section is to connect the Sancaktepe region to Çekmeköy in August-September 2023, hopefully. Of course, we want to continue on our way by connecting Sultanbeyli to this line, perhaps before the last quarter of 2024.”

“DICVERTISEMENTS EVEN DIFFICULT TO PROnunciate”

Pointing out that the jobs he is talking about are difficult and not easy journeys, İmamoğlu said, “Even the 1 kilometer of this line you see here is big numbers. Numbers that are difficult to pronounce. Figures that find costs exceeding 500-600 million liras. Unfortunately, the work we do with such costs and the financing model of such costs are clear. I wish we could do everything right from our safe. But it is to put in front of the city a payment schedule that can be met with the quality that the city will live and achieve with its future-oriented financial arrangement, by borrowing in reasonable terms, saving the city's present, and we know that these are very valuable for cities, as long as we can borrow in terms of 10-12 years. Because the future target we have set in our city with the vision of 2030 and 2050 is the fact that this city has to reach 800-850 kilometers of rail system.”

“WE AIM TO REACH THE SULTANBEYLILER TO TAKSIM IN 55 MINUTES”

Emphasizing that they aim to bring the people of Sultanbeyli to Taksim in 55 minutes with the line, İmamoğlu said:

“If we do this, quality life is possible in this city. In this respect, we continue on our way with our full strength and full faith. In this line, our process regarding an additional financial resource continues. It was a decision that our parliament approved. At the moment, we are following the processes of the central administration. I hope that by improving both the processes there and our capabilities in finding resources, and our common capabilities on behalf of our country and city, this line is the best and most convenient way to transport our easternmost district, Sultanbeyli, the people of Sultanbeyli, our fellow citizens of Sancaktepe, and our citizens to every point of the city as soon as possible. to meet the ideal rail system. The spark we light today means the light at the end of this tunnel appears. We want to meet our citizens and congratulate each other enthusiastically, on the days when we will make our citizens from Sancaktepe and Sultanbeyli happy both in 2023 and 2024, and in this tunnel you see, this time we will go with our train. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to both my companions, our contractor and everyone who contributed to this journey, from the past to the present and to the future. No one should have any doubt that we will be able to bring this period of time to a successful conclusion with an unhindered process.”

64 THOUSAND 800 PASSENGERS WILL BE MOVED AT ONE DIRECTION

The line, which is expected to relieve the road traffic in the Anatolian part of the city and which is expected to reduce the vehicle crossings between the two sides, will consist of 8 stations. The journey time on the 10,9 kilometer line will be 16 minutes. With the line, 64 passengers will be transported in one direction per hour. Line; It will pass through Çekmeköy, Sancaktepe and Sultanbeyli districts.
