Getting on the bus and subway, the students learned the rules to be considered in public transportation and communication in practice. Then, they visited the Ankara Metro Operation and Control Center and got information about the automation center.
EGO buses and Ankara Metro were the first applied course areas for the 7th grade students of Şehit Muhammed Meriç Secondary School within the scope of the geography assignment on "human relations, socialization and correct behavior in public transportation". Under the supervision of their teachers, the students got on the EGO bus number 226 from the stop in front of their school in Yakacık Kuzey Yıldızı, using their Ankarakart, and reached the Ankara Metro Operation and Control Center by transferring at the Hospital Metro Station in Yenimahalle. It was worth seeing the happiness of the students who visited the automation center after getting information from the authorities about the functioning of the metro system and the operation of the system.
Nazlı Ceylan, one of the students who visited the Macunköy Metro Management Directorate, said, “7. I'm going to class. First of all, I was very happy to have such a practical course. We learned what we should pay attention to in public transportation. I learned that we should give place to pregnant and elderly people. I learned that we shouldn't fight. We did not know that there was such a large structure behind public transportation. Saying “Thank you”; 7th grade student Harun Taha Coşkun expressed his thoughts as follows: “We had a homework on how we should behave in public transportation and we learned it practically. I think it was beautiful. From here, I invite everyone to follow the rules of public transport.”
