Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç said that as the Metropolitan Municipality, they have invested 900 million TL in this area with new rail system vehicles, buses, closed stops, stations and applications that will facilitate transportation for more comfortable and safer transportation.
Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç continues to implement his projects with the aim of carrying Kayseri to better points in the field of transportation, as in every field. Under the leadership of Mayor Büyükkılıç, who has signed important projects in this field, the Metropolitan Municipality has offered many projects such as new rail system vehicles, buses, closed stops, stations, discounts in public transportation and applications that will provide convenience in transportation.
NEW VEHICLE SUPPLEMENTS FROM METROPOLITAN
In his statement, Mayor Büyükkılıç stated that the Rail System network expansion, which is one of the important elements of public transportation in the city, continues, and 647 rail system vehicles were purchased by the Metropolitan Municipality to be used on the rail system lines that are about to be completed, with a cost of 11 million TL.
Büyükkılıç reminded that they have added new buses to their transportation fleet and stated that 24 new buses have been put into use in this context, that 12 articulated buses will be at the service of their fellow citizens from Kayseri very soon, and the total cost of this service is 120 million TL.
Mayor Büyükkılıç stated that they have implemented multi-functional closed stops special for passengers waiting for public transportation vehicles, and said, “We brought the fully equipped 'closed stop' project to our city, from mini library to charging units, from internet services to WCs. We put into service 2 closed stations with a cost of 8 million TL. In addition, Park and Valet service has been put into use in Kaleönü and Kiçikapı regions. We increased the number of KAYBIS stations to 56. We brought online and mobile balance loading to public transportation and payment options with Debit/Credit cards and NFC. We started 80 free transfer applications within 2 minutes," he said.
APPLICATIONS TO PROVIDE EASE OF TRANSPORTATION
Talking about the applications that will provide convenience in the field of transportation, Büyükkılıç continued his words as follows:
“We have activated passenger information screens at the Rail System Stations. We added automatic ticket filling machines to 6,9 points with a current investment cost of 23 million TL. We have reduced the Discounted Subscription Card to 100 TL and the Full Subscription Card to 300 TL. We have increased the number of discounted subscription users more than 14 times. In addition, the construction of the "Traffic Control Center", where smart traffic management will be carried out, was completed and put into service. In the first stage, 55 intersections have been converted into Smart Intersections, and work continues at 73 intersections. In the project, which cost 26 million TL, 80 percent of the existing traffic will be managed with the completion of these intersections. Horizontal Vertical Traffic Signs, Road Line Painting Works and machinery and equipment for these operations were purchased with a cost of 35 million TL. On the other hand, 65 pieces of Construction Machinery were purchased to be used within our municipality with a value of 24 million TL.”
President Büyükkılıç added that the total cost of these investments has exceeded 900 million TL and that investments will continue without slowing down for a more comfortable and safer transportation for the people of Kayseri.
