Minister Varank opened the Eskişehir Design and Innovation Center (ETİM), which was established in Eskişehir OSB within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program, financed within the framework of the financial cooperation of the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Noting that there are 260 projects with ongoing budgets exceeding 42 million Euros within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program, Varank said, “We have a large project pool that touches critical areas from autonomous vehicles to the digital game sector, from the fight against cancer to the digital transformation of the industry. With the projects we implement, we aim to increase the efficiency of our enterprises and to enable them to achieve a competitive production structure for export. The way to achieve this is undoubtedly through R&D, technology and innovation, as we all know.” used his statements.

Minister Varank stated that they channeled both national and international resources to the field of R&D and innovation, and stated that they continue to establish highly qualified infrastructures that will facilitate R&D and innovation.

Explaining that the enterprises using the center will provide the opportunity to develop their design, engineering, R&D and prototype production capabilities without any additional investment, Varank said, “This will put them not one but maybe 10 steps ahead of their competitors. When the projects of the 20 companies that have been served until now are examined, we can clearly see that very important successes have been achieved especially in mold production and that good works can come from here.” he said.

Referring to the National Rail Systems Test Center (URAYSİM) Project in Eskişehir, Varank said, “The URAYSİM Project is a project that will add value to this city. It is a project that will add value to our industrialists, and we want to introduce the capabilities here to the world by including this place within the scope of the 6550 (Law No.) research infrastructure, and make production to the world with the capabilities here.” said.
