Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç announced that the connection works of Cumhuriyet Meydani-Cemil Baba Tram Line were completed and reopened.
In his statement on the subject, President Büyükkılıç stated that the integration works for the Cumhuriyet Square-Cemil Baba Tram Line, which constitutes an important stage of the Talas Anayurt-Cumhuriyet Square tram line, have been completed and the trams have started to serve.
Noting that the integration work has been carried out meticulously as it is an important milestone in the 5.5-kilometer Talas Homeland Tram Line project, Büyükkılıç said, “Republic Square- Our integration work on the Cemil Baba tram line has been completed by meticulously and diligently. In this way, our tram transportation, which was interrupted for a while, started again. Good luck,” he said.

Thanking the citizens of Kayseri who showed a tolerant approach in integration studies in order to provide a more comprehensive transportation service in a safe and comfortable way, the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç stated the following in his statement:
“I would like to thank our citizens who approached our integration efforts, which we started with the aim of providing a more comprehensive transportation service in a safe and comfortable way to our citizens in Kayseri, but which inevitably disrupted transportation for a while, and who saw that this was a necessity. Until this time, we have built a regular railway network and provided transportation continuously so that the Cumhuriyet Square-Cemil Baba Tram Line, which has already provided transportation service, can continue this service in a healthy way. When this line was included in order to expand the transportation network later on, the integration of the lines became inevitable. In the end, I hope that our esteemed citizens will benefit from the opportunities of more comfortable, safer and faster transportation in good days.
The bus services with line code 2, which started to serve as an alternative for the T019 tram line, whose transportation was restricted during the said process, were terminated due to the start of transportation services of the T2 tram line.
