I think that the positive energy that has developed among the participants due to the World Nomad Games will open a new door to cultural diplomacy for all of us.”

Headlines from Erdogan's statements are as follows:

“I send my greetings from Iznik, the blue pearl of our country, to all my brothers and sisters who set their hearts on sports, art and culture and our common future. The first of the Nomad Games was held in Kyrgyzstan in 2014. The next two games were hosted by Kyrgyzstan in 2016 and 2018. We are in Iznik for the 2th of the games held every 4 years. It would be held in 2020. We had to postpone it due to the Covid -19 epidemic, which also affected our country. Human societies have sought new life by leaving their place for thousands of years. There are also communities that maintain their lives by constantly changing them or changing them according to the seasons. They influenced each other on these journeys. Today, migration is still the carrier of culture and human relations.”

“WE CANNOT CONSENT TO NOMAGIC CULTURE WITHIN DIFFICULTY”

President Erdoğan continued his speech as follows: “We cannot consent to the disappearance of the culture that left its mark on thousands of years of humanity. We see benefits in keeping the nomadic culture alive. As the guarantee of our independence, we refer to the smoking nomad tent in the Taurus Mountains. I congratulate the organizers of the games that will bring many experiences to our young people and guests. I wish the participants success. I also thank our friends. I believe that these games, which are based on peace and cooperation, are a free cooperation platform in this period when our region is scorched by crises. I think that the relations we have established with the countries participating in the Games will open a new door for cultural diplomacy. The participation of more than 102 thousand athletes from 3 countries gives us hope. In the gastronomy programs, the culinary tastes of 20 different countries will meet with the participants.”

After President Erdoğan's speech, citizens watched the spectacular visual show and fireworks displays of athletes and traditional dancers from participating countries.
