World Nomad Games Started on Bursa's Iznik Lake Shore

The fourth of the World Nomad Games, which is the biggest traditional sports event in the world and was held 3 times on the shores of Issyk Kul lake in Cholpon Ata, Kyrgyzstan, started on the shores of Bursa's Iznik Lake.

The 4th World Nomad Games, organized for the purpose of keeping the traditional sports and Turkish culture alive in Central Asia, started this year on the giant plateau prepared by the lake in the Iznik District of Bursa. The guest heads of state, who will follow the giant feast that was carried from Lake Issik to Lake Iznik, started to come to Bursa from the morning hours. Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş and Bursa Governor Yakup Canbolat welcomed Kyrgyzstan President Sadır Caparov and Kazakhstan Parliament Speaker Yerlan Koshanov at Yenişehir Airport. Later, Governor Canbolat and President Aktaş, who came to the area where the sports competitions will be held, met with Ersin Tatar, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Excitement will move to the center

Examining the latest preparations in the field, President Alinur Aktaş said that a giant screen will be set up in the July 15 Democracy Square so that the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games can be watched in the center of Bursa. Stating that they have been preparing feverishly for the World Nomad Games for about 6 months, President Aktaş said, “A tremendous environment has been prepared right on the shore of Lake Iznik. We will bring all our citizens here with free vehicles that we will remove from 'different points of the city center' every hour. This organization, in which more than 102 thousand athletes from 3 countries will participate, is a great achievement for our town and our city, in this arena where friendship, brotherhood, unity and solidarity will emerge.
