Haluk Pekşen has been receiving treatment for pneumonia since 14 August 2022. Pekşen's treatment was continued in the intensive care unit, and it was stated that her condition was progressing well. Pekşen was treated at Ankara Güven Hospital last week. Former CHP deputy Harun Pekşen passed away on September 16, 2022.

He was born in 1961 in Yomra. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law. He started working as a lawyer in 1987. He was a member of the Social Democracy Party first, and the CHP since 1992. He served as CHP Trabzon deputy between 2015-2018.
