With the first excavation for the construction of the İzmir-Aydın railway line on September 23, 1856, we are experiencing the happiness of carrying the railway adventure that started in Anatolia to its 166th year with perseverance and determination.

During the period of our empire, our ancestors connected Anatolia with iron networks from the Hijaz to Rumeli, with the railway investments they initiated. It has also been a source of pride for us to realize other projects that they left behind as a legacy.
After the National Struggle period, the railway mobilization continued without slowing down and played an important role in the rebirth of our country from the ashes.
Dear Colleagues,
Our railway adventure, having reached its most glorious period since 2003, continues under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with the strength we derive from the devoted efforts of our Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
We carry out passenger and freight transportation on 11.590 km of conventional, 1.241 km of high-speed, 219 km of high-speed train lines, in line with the service criteria required by our age, with a railway culture approaching two centuries.
In urban transportation, we also serve with suburban operations, with Başkentray in Ankara and Marmaray in Istanbul.
In addition, thanks to Marmaray, which is the solution to the traffic density of our distinguished city, Istanbul, we have become an indispensable link in the middle corridor in freight transportation.
On the one hand, we ensure the continuity of global trade with our freight transportation service on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway Line, in thousands of kilometers from China to Europe, from Russia to the Middle East; On the other hand, we are sensitive to negativities such as natural disasters and economic crises experienced by friendly and brotherly countries, and we deliver our “Goodness Trains” to all over the world.
It is not a coincidence that our industrialists and entrepreneurs prefer "TCDD Transportation" to deliver their hard-working products to both the domestic and foreign markets.
We all know that behind this preference, there is a great effort of us railroaders, from our train workers to our machinists, who work hard for the development and development of our country, with the awareness and culture of railwaymen, who overcome all kinds of difficulties day and night, and who fulfill their responsibilities by overcoming all kinds of difficulties.
Giving effort to the 166-year-old history of our railways, and realizing magnificent projects such as the Hejaz Railway, II. I commemorate Abdülhamid Han, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who started the railway mobilization after the National Struggle, our first general manager Behiç Erkin, who provided logistic support to the Turkish Army in the life and death struggle of our nation, and our railwaymen, who we sent off to martyrdom for their duties, with mercy and gratitude. Bless their souls.
