Cycling National Team Closed the Podium in the Races in Koramaz Valley

Kayseri MTB Cup and Erciyes MTB Cup stages of Erciyes International Mountain Bike Races have been completed. Cyclists pedaled for two days in Koramaz Valley on the challenging track in history and nature.

Kayseri Erciyes, which has become the center of cycling, continues to host international mountain bike competitions.

Under the leadership of the International Cyclists Union - UCI and the Turkish Cycling Federation, Erciyes High Altitude and Sports Tourism Association, under the auspices of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, Erciyes A.Ş. The first two stages of the Erciyes International Mountain Bike Races, which were organized with the support of Hüma Hospital, were completed.

The Kayseri MTB Cup stage was held on the first day of the organization, and the Erciyes MTB Cup stage was held on the second day. Professional cyclists competed on the track in Koramaz Valley, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List of Kayseri.

Athletes struggled to reach the finish line by crossing the historical textures, over the steep rocks, in the lush nature along the 27 km long Cross Country Olympic / XCO track.

As a result of the Erciyes MTB Cup stage, Abdulkadir Kelleci from the National Cycling Team came first, Furkan Akcan came second and Ahmet Can Akpınar came third.

In women, Alina Sarkulova from Kazakhstan Cycling Team came first and Tatyana Geneleva from the same team came in second.

Medals and trophies were presented to the winners at the award ceremony.

Erciyes International Mountain Bike Races will continue with Miniature Cappadocia MTB Cup and Soğanlı MTB Cup stages on 24-25 September 2022.
