Metro Istanbul, a subsidiary of IMM, opened its doors to children and their parents in Istanbul this summer. 27 children who participated in the 'Metro Istanbul Summer School' program organized for children and mothers between 26 June and 252 August received their certificates. In the program of “Metro Istanbul Summer School”; Recycling Workshop where waste materials are evaluated with İSTAÇ, fire safety training given by Istanbul Fire Department and search and rescue simulation with K9 dogs, Aikido, basketball, volleyball, athletics, badminton training as well as chess, cartoon and cartoon training with the equipment support of Spor Istanbul. trainings such as novel drawing were given. In addition, in the gardens of the municipality, children were given training on growing plants.

Children who participated in the "Metro Istanbul Summer School" program, which was held for the first time this year in Esenler campus by Metro Istanbul, one of the affiliates of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), received their certificates at a ceremony.

At the ceremony where 252 children and their families were hosted, Metro Istanbul General Manager and deputy general managers, representatives of IMM affiliate companies and institutions distributed their certificates and gifts containing support packages for the new school term to the children.

Istanbulites are hosted with various events

Ozgur Soy, General Manager of Metro Istanbul, reminded that they have opened the doors of their campuses to Istanbulites with the activities they have organized since they took office, and said, “Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality belongs to the people of Istanbul… Metro Istanbul belongs to the people of Istanbul… These rails, trains and stations belong to all of us. Moreover; we are a part of our region, our district, our neighborhood. We said; Let this not be a forbidden zone where people pass by and do not know or see behind its walls. With this understanding, we opened our doors to you with various activities. We are very happy to host you here with organizations such as the Open Air Cinema Days we have organized in the summer months for the last two years and the semester events we have organized during the semester holidays.”

30 children from 252 districts

Stating that as Metro Istanbul, they always give priority to children, General Manager Özgür Soy said, “We thought about what we can do more for children this year, and after hard work, our summer school program emerged. We came together with our children during the summer in entertaining and educational activities consisting of 7 terms with 10-11 and 14-4 age groups. We had planned to have 25 people in each group, but as soon as we made the announcement, the quota for our first group was filled. After the intense interest from you, we increased this number to 47 in some periods. While organizing our summer school program, we did not forget the mothers. While their children participated in fun and educational activities, mothers who wanted to stay with us had the opportunity to spend time in artistic and educational activities. This year, we had a very enjoyable summer with our 30 children and their mothers from 252 districts of Istanbul in our Esenler campus.”

Special event for mothers

In the "Metro Istanbul Summer School" program, which attracts great attention and consists of 2 terms of 4 weeks, children; Recycling Workshop where waste materials are evaluated with İSTAÇ, fire safety training given by Istanbul Fire Department and search and rescue simulation with K9 dogs, Aikido, basketball, volleyball, athletics, badminton training as well as chess, cartoon and cartoon training with the equipment support of Spor Istanbul. trainings such as novel drawing were given. In addition, we enabled children to come into contact with the soil with the M-Farmer program we prepared in our orchard, which we created with our own means in our garden.

In addition to the children, mothers also had the opportunity to participate in activities such as face yoga, clay pot making, marbling art, and the seminars organized by the Institute Istanbul İSMEK on the subjects of Safe Internet for All and Healthy Eating, free of charge.
