Konya Gastrofest Hosted 4 Thousand Taste Enthusiasts in 550 Days

At the Konya Gastrofest, which was held for the second time this year in Kalehan Ancestral Garden, the delicious local dishes, desserts and culinary richness of Konya and its districts met with more than half a million taste enthusiasts attending the festival from home and abroad for 4 days.

The festival, which was opened by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's wife Emine Erdoğan and the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, was a visual feast of Konya cuisine; Etli bread, okra soup, furun kebab, tiridi, wedding pilaf, sheet meat, Höşmerim dessert and hundreds of flavors of the palace cuisine were introduced. In the festival where professional chefs showed their skills, the cooks were the jury in the competitions held among the people and gave grades to the competitors.

Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that Konya Gastronomy Festival was completed with a great participation and said, “We have now come to the end of Konya Gastrofest. It was a very important event. Although we edited the latter, we can say that it has now become traditional. There is a very intense participation, especially from outside the city. On this occasion, it was an opportunity to explain Konya's food culture both to Turkey and to the whole world. Thank you very much to the people of Konya. They showed a very strong participation. This year, we hosted 550 thousand visitors at our Gastrofest. I would like to thank all Kenyans. A thank you to our brothers who came from out of town. I would like to express that we are waiting for all the friends we hosted in Konya to get to know Konya's food culture and Konya's culture. On this occasion, we will continue our efforts to make Konya a tourism city. Konya is a city worthy of being introduced in every sense. We will continue to promote our Konya with the strength we derive from the people of Konya. I would also like to thank all our participants, chefs, stand members and all employees who participated in Gastrofest. They made a great effort for 4 days. But we hosted 550 thousand guests in Konya in a way befitting Mevlana. I hope to have a much stronger and bigger Gastrofest next year," he said.

While the guests attending the festival stated that they had unforgettable moments; The tradesmen also stated that they were happy with the density and thanked the Konya Metropolitan Municipality.

At Gastrofest, children, on the other hand, are having unforgettable moments by having fun in the event area specially set up for them; In addition, concerts, music performances and interviews added color to the festival.
