Continuing its investments despite the difficulties in the country's economy, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will host two important ceremonies tomorrow with the participation of CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. First, the İzTransformation facility, which was established to separate packaging waste, will be opened, and then the groundbreaking ceremony of the first phase will be held in Gaziemir Urban Transformation Area.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will open one of its two important investments tomorrow and lay the foundation of the other. Continuing its work with the goal of a sustainable city, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality will open the İzTransformation facility, which was established in Konak by the municipality's subsidiary İzDoğa to sort packaging waste, at 25 tomorrow (September 10.30th, Sunday). On the same day, at 12.00:XNUMX, the groundbreaking ceremony of the first phase of the Gaziemir Urban Transformation Area will be held. CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will also attend the facility opening and groundbreaking ceremony.
Separated waste is included in the recycling ring
Within the scope of the IzTransformation project, packaging wastes from many different areas such as residences, public institutions, hospitals and markets are collected from the source with waste collection vehicles. The collected wastes are conveyed to the İzTransformation facility. The facility has a packaging waste sorting track with a daily capacity of 420 tons. Waste separated here is included in the recycling ring.
The project initially distributed 800 waste collection boxes. Karşıyakawas launched in Karabağlar, Buca and Narlıdere. By increasing the number of waste collection boxes and vehicles, it is aimed to expand the İzTransformation project throughout İzmir.
With the project, it provides the opportunity for citizens who are trying to make a living from garbage on the street under difficult conditions, to be employed in more humane conditions. Citizens who earn their living from garbage work under much more hygienic conditions in a system where their insurance has working hours and permits.
A new life in Gaziemir

In the first phase, 275 residences and 15 workplaces will be built. In the second phase, approximately 300 independent units will be built. When the project is completed, approximately 10 thousand residences, workplaces, tourism and trade units will be built in the region.
