The International Istanbul Oral-B Bosphorus Triathlon, the world's first intercontinental triathlon competition, will be held for the second time with the support of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. In the event to be held in Beykoz on September 11, 800 athletes will run the challenging tracks consisting of swimming, jogging and cycling stages.

In the race where triathletes from Turkey and from various countries of the world will participate, the athletes will compete on the track consisting of 2,3 kilometers of swimming, 40 kilometers of cycling and 10 kilometers of running. Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge will be temporarily closed to traffic for the bicycle stage. The swimming stage will take place between Kanlıca and Küçüksu, and the running stage will take place between Küçüksu and Çubuklu.

ROADS TO BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC

Küçüksu-Kavacık TEM connection for the bicycle track South road will be closed to traffic between 05.00-10.30, the northern road will continue its normal course. For the running track, the road between Küçüksu-Körfez Caddesi will be closed to traffic between 06.00-11.30 in both directions. For the bicycle track, between 05.30 and 09.30, the TEM highway South lane between the Military Academies and Kavacık Junction will be closed, the Europe-Asia direction will be closed, and the other direction War Academies Kavacık Lake will continue its normal course.

EVERY DETAIL IS CONSIDERED

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the cooperation of the Turkish Triathlon Federation (TTF) and Beykoz Municipality, will support the best organization of the event with its many units. Supporting the organization both on land and at sea under the coordination of the IMM Youth and Sports Directorate, IMM appointed silver certified lifeguards for the sea track. Within the scope of the support, Küçüksu Recreation Area was allocated for the race between 9-11 September. IMM teams will make the necessary checks before the race in order to protect the health of the athletes on the bicycle and running tracks, and will ensure that the barriers, bumps and gratings that will affect the health of the athletes are closed or removed, and the teams will make the track safer by patching the pit areas on the track.

ROAD INFORMATION TO BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC IS IN IBB CEP TRAFFIC

In the sections of the track that will be closed to traffic and under the responsibility of IMM, warning signs will guide the drivers to alternative roads. The roads to be closed on the day of the race will be shared with the citizens from the IMM Mobile Traffic application. Athletes will be supported in areas such as electricity supply to the event area, lighting works, mobile toilets, showers and 300 barriers for the athletes.

TRANSFER OF ATHLETES TO THE FIELD

One of the important supports that IMM will give to the event will be about transportation. 10 IETT buses will be assigned on the morning of the race to transfer the athletes from the event area to the starting area. The waiting points of the bus stops in the Küçüksu region will be changed on the day of the race to avoid congestion and the traffic will not be disrupted, and the bus routes will be specially arranged for the race day. In addition, in the Küçüksu recreation area, the parking lot, which provides service within the body of IMM, will be allocated free of charge to the federation and duty vehicles.
