2 Chinese-Made High-Speed Trains Arrive in Indonesia

A high-speed electric passenger train and an inspection train manufactured in China and adapted for the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (HSR) project arrived in the Port of Jakarta on Thursday, departing from the Port of Qingdao, China.

The arrival of the trains marks a new milestone in the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung HSR. It was also the first time that high-speed trains produced in China were exported to another country. The high-speed EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) and CIT (Comprehensive Inspection Train) trains, designed and manufactured by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Limited Company with the advanced technology of the Fuxing high-speed train, have a maximum operating speed of 350 km per hour. Designed and manufactured to Chinese standards, the trains were also adapted to the working environment and track conditions in Indonesia.

It is planned to carry 2023 more trains in batches from China to Indonesia by early 10. Made with Chinese technology, the Jakarta-Bandung HSR will reduce the journey between Jakarta and Bandung, the capital of Indonesia's West Java province, from 3 hours to about 40 minutes.
