Emirates will offer new travel options to customers traveling to and from South Africa with the addition of flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. The airline has long supported the recovery of South Africa's economy and tourism, and now supports its commitment by increasing air connections at all gates to the country. The airline's latest move confirms South Africa's strategic importance in its network, and its current priority is to rebuild capacity to expand services and unlock further growth potential.

From March 1, 2023, the airline will expand its flight schedule to and from Johannesburg to three flights per day. It will fly to Cape Town twice a day from 1 February 2023. Emirates will also add two more flights to Durban, making this a daily service from 1 December 2022. Serving Cape Town twice a day, the airline will restore its pre-pandemic schedule and boost the city's tourism just in time for the peak arrival season, with convenient connections from key source markets such as Europe, the Middle East, West Asia and Australasia. . As part of their long-standing commitment to support South Africa's efforts to improve tourism, Emirates and the South African Tourism Board signed a memorandum of understanding earlier this year to jointly promote tourism and increase visitor numbers to South Africa.

Additional services across all three gateways will offer customers greater connectivity options to a range of local and regional cities in South Africa through Emirates' codeshare and interline partners such as South African Airways, Airlink, FlySafair and Cemair. No other airline offers these unique connections and onward travel options.

Customers traveling between Dubai and South Africa can look forward to a superior experience across all flight classes, with thoughtful menus and beverages made with locally sourced ingredients, branded amenities and exceptional hospitality provided by the airline's international team.

The airline continues to enhance its premium inflight experience and offers its South African customers a selection of local South African wines, including Ken Forrester, Porseleinberg, Klein Constantia, Waterkloof and Boekenhoutskloof. In addition, customers can enjoy authentic South African dishes and flavors with a selection of local cheeses and Rooibos-inspired cuisine.
