The opening of the 'district bus station' with a capacity of 25 vehicles and the new fish market built on a land of approximately 10 thousand square meters will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has come to an end in the construction of the new fish market, which was built within the "Baskent Districts Terminal" and Yenimahalle wholesale market in order to gather the district buses in a single center and facilitate the transportation of the citizens.

The opening of the new 'fish market', consisting of a 'district terminal' with a capacity of 22 vehicles, of which construction started on October 2021, 25, and 10 shops and 14 cold storage of 235 square meters, built on a land of approximately 1 thousand square meters in Yenimahalle Wholesale Market, will be opened on September 7, 2022. .

FISHING TRADES GETS A MODERN FACILITY

Fishermen tradesmen are counting the days to reach their modern and hygienic new shops. The total cost of the fish market, which is located in the Wholesale Market and was demolished in April 2021, and the reconstruction works started in July, is 24 million 65 thousand TL.

On a land of approximately 10 thousand square meters, there are 275 modern-looking, 2-storey shops, each consisting of 14 square meters, 235 cold storage of 1 square meters, its own cold storage to keep the fish fresh until the moment of sale, and a parking lot for 46 cars.

Atilla Süslü, Head of Ankara Chamber of Fishermen, Greengrocers and Aquariums, said, “We used to be in barracks for all tradesmen. We were doing a lot of things on our own. This place was demolished and rebuilt. It has become a modern facility. Shopkeepers began to move. I would like to thank the President Mansur for providing us with a clean facility. It was a wonderful facility that was built with care. While the tradesmen are very happy that it will regain its new condition, the fishermen's market tradesmen expressed their satisfaction with the newly built modern and hygienic facility with the following words:

Erhan Hakbilen: “It has been a really successful facility. There are also social activities. It used to be uninhabitable. Bathroom, rest rooms, cold storage everything is there. All our needs have been thought of.”

Mehmet Kececi: “Our new wholesaler position has been very good. There are icehouses, there is a fish storage place, there are warehouses. They expanded the area, it became more beautiful. It was a fish market worthy of the capital, thank you.”

Bulent Ozcan: “We are very pleased with the newly built area. It was like a shantytown. This place has been expanded and renewed, it is very nice. Its former state was useless, now it has become a more luxurious and functional facility. It was a good image for Ankara.”

DISTRICT BUSES ARE ASSEMBLED IN A SINGLE CENTER

The Metropolitan Municipality built the “Capital Districts Terminal” in order to prevent the traffic density caused by the buses serving the outer districts by loading and unloading on the streets and streets.

After the opening to be held on September 7, besides reducing the traffic density in the city center, the district buses will be gathered at a single point.

The terminal building, with a total cost of 4 million 477 thousand TL, consists of a total of 4 floors, including the basement, ground floor, mezzanine and terrace floor. Boiler room and warehouses of 375 square meters in the basement of the building, 375 offices of 3 square meters, 1 cafeteria and kitchen, energy room and security room with male-female WC on the ground floor, 261 square meters of rest room and kitchen on the mezzanine floor, driver's room, male-female prayer room, baby care room, male and female WC. On the terrace floor, there is a 75 square meter closed and 300 square meter open area cafeteria, kitchen and men's and women's WC.

TRANSPORTATION TRADES ARE SATISFIED WITH THE DISTRICT TERMINAL

Reminding that the terminal was tendered in 2021, BUGSAS Başkent Districts Terminal Responsible Operation Supervisor Zeki Yarar said, “It is at the moment of completion. It will be opened on September 7th. The terminal has an area of ​​400 square meters. There is a shelter, a prayer room, a male and female WC, a lounge for citizens and drivers. The building that was given to us was a good value for the people of Ankara. We will continue to support our tradesmen," he said.

Transport tradesmen, who provide transportation from the center of Ankara to its districts, stated that they are very satisfied with the terminal built and said:

Free Cigdem: “Thank you for giving us this place. We were outside in the cold in the winter. We didn't even have a toilet. It has been very advantageous for us.”
