AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş participated in the Aviation, Space and Technology Festival Teknofest, Turkey's largest technology fair, organized under the auspices of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The festival, which was held for the 5th time this year, was held at Samsun Çarşamba Airport between 30 August and 4 September 2022. More than 100 state institutions, stakeholder institutions and universities from Turkey took part in the festival.

AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş stand hosted the visitors during the 6-day festival. This year, the company prepared an exciting and content-rich program aimed at informing the wide audience of the fair visitors about the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NGS) construction project in Turkey, nuclear energy and nuclear technology. Visitors to the stand welcomed the augmented reality and “NGS with VVER-1200 technology” mobile application with interest. By using the application, visitors had the opportunity to see the main facilities and equipment of Akkuyu NPP, as well as the working principles of NPP with an interactive 3D model.

An interactive quiz including questions about nuclear energy and environmental awareness was held at the stand, especially for children and young people. In the quiz, questions were asked by the rare Caretta Caretta sea turtle animation character, which AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş plays an active role in its protection. Prizes were presented to the winners by getting the most points in the quiz show.

In another part of the booth, young experts from AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. explained the personnel training program of Akkuyu NPP, their working experience at the NPP site and the contribution of nuclear energy to Turkey's technological development. The virtual tour video held at the Akkuyu NPP site, guided by Turkish nuclear engineers who received special training in Russia, was presented to the attention of the participants thanks to the large screens in the booth. In addition, festival participants were also able to visit Novovoronej NGS-2, the reference power plant of Akkuyu NPP, with a virtual tour.

In the photography area next to the stand, the visitors breathed the atmosphere of Turkey's first nuclear power plant site, and took photos wearing luminous vests and helmets. After the photo shoot, the visitors were presented with photo magnets that made this moment unforgettable. Visitors especially showed interest in the wall designed as a drawing area in the booth. Children and adults wrote their wishes by drawing on the wall.

Akkuyu Nuclear A.Ş Production and Construction Organization Director Denis Sezemin gave information about the construction of Akkuyu NPP, upcoming important developments, and the socio-economic contribution of the project to Turkey and the region where NPP is located.

AKKUYU NÜKLEER's stand has become a center where developments in the nuclear field in the Republic of Turkey are discussed and the business world gathers. At the stand, the management representatives of AKKUYU NÜKLEER had the opportunity to meet with the rector and faculty members of 19 Mayıs University in Samsun. University Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal stated that they look forward to cooperation with the company in terms of personnel training in the rapidly developing nuclear field in Turkey and creating conditions for the implementation of student exchange programs with technical universities in Russia.

This year, approximately 1 million 250 thousand people visited TEKNOFEST held in Samsun. More than 40 thousand students and teams from all provinces of Turkey and 107 countries applied to the competition program of the festival, which includes 600 different areas.
