Sharing the roadmap that institutions should follow in the new normal, Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin said, “The new normal is different from the old normal. If you are big enough, you shape the market, but if you are small, you have to shape the market.” He made suggestions to business people. According to August data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), annual inflation rose from 79,60 percent to 80,21 percent, renewing the peak of 24 years. The members of the association and many leading names of the sector met at the PLAT Talks event, organized for the second time by the PLAT Private Label Products Industrialists and Suppliers Association, which continues its efforts for the development and solution of the problems of the private label products sector, which is the handbrake of inflation.
Addressing sector representatives in the first part of the event held at Crowne Plaza in Istanbul-Kurtköy on Thursday, September 22, Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin answered the latest situation in the global markets, expectations and questions for the coming period.
“YOUR COMPANIES ARE OUR COUNTRY NOT YOURS”
“You need to prioritize your business-related expenses.” said Prof. Dr. Alkin said, “We once again saw the importance of avoiding unnecessary expenses and qualified personnel during the pandemic period. Our business people are one of the 4 production functions. These 4 production functions are labor, capital, land and entrepreneur. Land is our homeland, labor is our citizen, and capital is ours. Your companies belong to our country, not yours. Therefore, we need to act with these points in mind," he said.
SHARE THE ROADMAP THAT INSTITUTIONS SHOULD FOLLOW
Stating that wars, pandemics or unexpected situations can always be experienced globally, Prof. Dr. Alkin made the following statements in the continuation of his statement:
“We need to focus on the solution. Share the problems with your employees and look for the solution together. Increase the resistance. Because when there is another case, the principles that will keep the company afloat must already be prepared. We will plan back to work. 'How can we achieve the same performance again?' We will try to increase performance in work efficiency by activating the question. We will predict the new normal.
