Founded 115 years ago in a basement with a $100 loan, UPS today moves 2% of world trade alone. For 115 years, UPS employees around the world celebrate UPS's 115th anniversary and Founder's Day, striving to bring what matters to people.

In 1907, Jim Casey and Claude Ryan founded the American Messenger Company in their basement office on a $100 loan. Over time, this company became the starting point of the success story of UPS, which today carries 2% of world trade and connects people.

Offering a wide range of integrated logistics solutions to its customers in more than 220 countries and regions all over the world, UPS focuses on the goal of “Moving our world forward by delivering what matters most”. Focusing on a Customer-Oriented, People-led, Innovation-Driven strategy with more than 500 employees, UPS works to support the communities it serves around the world and reduce its impact on the environment.

UPS takes entrepreneurs' dreams and businesses beyond the horizon

In order for SMEs and entrepreneurs to discover their export potential and to see the obstacles and solutions that may come their way in the e-export process, TC. Having implemented the Export Academy program with the Ministry of Commerce, UPS traveled all over Turkey to provide SMEs with training on account management in virtual markets, online payment methods, e-export shipment packaging, digital marketing, customs legislation solutions, while providing successful export with them. On the other hand, UPS supports women to cross borders, overcome difficulties and create new futures by expanding their businesses to global markets, within the scope of the Women Exporter Program carried out in cooperation with the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Turkey (KAGIDER) and the Foundation for the Promotion of Women's Work (KEDV). Within the scope of the project, trainings such as reaching new markets, entrepreneurship, supply chain management are provided to women, while creating a supportive network for mentoring, learning and information sharing; e-learning and workshops on export best practices, trade policies and new market opportunities are also offered.

With more than 15.000 attendees to date, UPS takes entrepreneurs' dreams and businesses beyond the horizon.

UPS adds value to the communities it lives in

The UPS Foundation supports people and cultures to add value to their communities, help solve global problems and create a more equitable world. The UPS Foundation engages in activities such as health support and humanitarian assistance, gender equality and women's economic empowerment, supporting local communities, and protecting our planet. In this context, the UPS Foundation;

  • Distributed $69,4 million worth of grants and sponsored various activities,
  • Contributed $51,4 million to United Way through UPS employees and retirees,
  • Reaching 170 countries with its global philanthropy focus,
  • It donated 34,5 million vaccines to countries in need,
  • Planted 3,2 million trees within the scope of global environmental targets,
  • Performed 1,1 million hours of volunteering,
  • It has provided support in over 30 humanitarian crises globally.

The UPS Foundation has supported nearly 5 non-governmental organizations in Turkey in just 50 years, which are active in the fields of culture and arts, sports, children, women's empowerment, sports and access to health.

UPS employees make a difference through volunteer activities

Passionate about making the world a better place, UPS works with its global network and employees to strengthen the culture of volunteering around the world. Since 2011, UPS employees have volunteered an average of 3 million hours a year, providing critical support to more than 4.000 organizations tackling today's toughest societal challenges.

In total, 20 million trees have been planted, $17,9 million of social investment has been made in communities, and since 122,3, UPS employees around the world have volunteered for 2011 million hours in UPS Global Volunteering Month, marking its 21,7th anniversary.

Employees at UPS's Turkey organization have worked more than 2.000 hours this year to create social value; Since 2016, he has given more than 800 hours of volunteer service in nearly 44.000 social activities in total. all over Turkey; It cooperates with non-governmental organizations in activities such as animal shelter visits, blood donation events, book donations, environmental cleaning, NGO donations, tree planting, and martyrdom visits.
