In a video that went viral on social media in the evening of September 9, it was claimed that a mass grave was dug in the Gaziantep Martyrdom, and there were some baseless and baseless allegations that caused the public to panic. It has been deemed appropriate to make the following statements against the unfounded allegations made in social media posts.

Mass grave excavation preparations are a routine practice, especially for metropolitan cities. Especially in cities with a population of more than 2 million, such as Gaziantep, where there are at least 35 funerals per day, this situation is essential for the development of funeral services.

In addition, Gaziantep is among the provinces in Turkey that should prepare a certain amount of graves to be used in case of an extraordinary disaster and report them to the AFAD Presidency.

Apart from this, due to meteorological necessities and the freezing of the soil as a result of the cold in the winter months, a significant amount of burial sites should be dug and kept ready for the winter months when the weather conditions are more suitable.

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality has also made a statement on this subject in previous years. However, this year it is seen that the subject is used in a different way and with the aim of affecting the society in a negative way. We ask our citizens not to respect social media posts whose source is unknown, and we present our respects.
